Re: Jay Gruden hired as head coach of the Redskins
His dad wants a job and isn't getting interest. Why? He seems like he would be a good fit here.

I have very little to judge Gruden on.

Mike Jones @MikeJonesWaPo 23m
#Redskins announce the hiring of Kirk Olivadotti. Also announce what we knew: Raheem Morris DBs coach, Jacob Burney DL coach. |

Re: Jay Gruden hired as head coach of the Redskins
so was morris the secondary or DB coach last year?
are we going to have a secondary this year or will we have a safeties coach? our secondary sucked ball sacks last year. i hope its more lack of talent than coaching but ... damn we were bad in the secondary, especially the first half of the season. oh well, im hoping it all comes together. |

I still maintain that Haslett is a good defensive coordinator if you give him some talent to work with. But Phillips is on another level. I hate when relationships get in the way of making the best decision.

Re: Jay Gruden hired as head coach of the Redskins
I still haven't voted. I'm still unsold ANY hiring that includes keeping Jim Haslett around. Horrible Horrible move. Jay I like. Jim needs to be demoted to LB coach.

Re: Jay Gruden hired as head coach of the Redskins
Wade Phillips is a proven guy, been around a real long time. I'd probably say he's an upgrade over Haslett. But he's not going to be coming here. People hire who their comfortable with.

Only the Pats, Texans, Colts, Giants, Packers, Falcons, Bucs and Cards have separate coaches; one for cornerbacks and one for safeties.
