Nope.

Given 90-man rosters, there will be more cuts than ever in the next few weeks. And given the short window to evaluate rookies, more of them may be keeping jobs just on speculation, potentially leading to more veteran cuts than ever.

So there's no reason to jump at the first crumbs being thrown.

So the Jets have offered Maybin a one year deal? Couldn't they have just stuck with Gholston?

The Jets were at the point with Gholston where they were converting to a fulltime DE in their system. Maybin at 228 or whatever he is would solely play as an OLB.

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 3

Alright maybe it was already mentioned but I went back three pages and didn't see it so pardon me if it has, but the Skins signed TE Tony Curtis.

He played for Dallas. Someone on another site said he last played 3 yrs ago. Hopefully just preseason camp fodder.

Supposedly Philly is now asking for two second round picks for Asante Samuel.

Asking price for Asante Samuel is a pair of second-round picks

Even though his sticker price is very large and inconvenient I really do like Asante Samuel.

I think I'd prefer to just go with what we got and let the season play out. Do exactly what we did this year, in next yrs draft by doubling our draft picks. Then we can get a QB and CB if what we got does not pan out.

I wouldn't trade with the eagles again, but I would like Asante, he'd be better than any of our corners.

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 3

Looks like Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly were not the only WR busts from the second round of 2008. Limas Sweed is looking for a job.

The same news story also tells us that Macho Harris has a new home in Pitt.
