So now, newly-signed kickers and punters are being spotted with numbers in the 30s and 40s because numbers 1-19 are being taken over by WRs, RBs, and defensive players.

Going to be a mess...and a strange sights this season.
I hate it. Used to be able to ID a player you didn't know by their number, now it's going to make it harder to recognize a guy on D with a number like 9 because he could be a LB or secondary. Nothing the NFL won't do to make a quick buck though.

Maybe it would take a throw-in pick by GB to balance out the age differential but then again, he's the reigning MVP.

Bonus points, Wilson played for Wisconsin.
Rodgers way better than Wilson. His height a major liability. He can't be a pure pocket passer. Both teams take HUGE cap hits with trade. Neither QB is going anywhere, just on principle. Fantasy type trades rarely make sense in real world. They can honor their deals, or sit and not get paid, period. Enough of these Divas signing huge deals with $50M guaranteed and then trying to whine their way out of town. The guarantee is a long term commitment. No billionaire owner is going to have some QB dictate things. Nor GB.

Meyer said his only concern is helping Jaguars get better, when asked about Tebow. Tebow is an elite athlete with off the charts character. Bringing him for tryout on the big 90 man roster or whatever number is this year, not absurd. We've got like 9 TEs from everywhere, LOL. Bringing him back is probably bit of favor to Tebow, but Meyer will certainly be ruthless about final cuts. Tebow will have to earn it.

People could be talking about Tebow like Thomas, low mileage, transition to new position, etc. I don't think so, but nothing wrong with seeking talent via all avenues, as we are doing.

Yeah we get it, he's throwing a friend a bone. Doesn't mean he's gonna make the squad or contribute.

Translation: "We need to create competition for a trade, since everyone knows Julio is done in Atlanta."

@diannaESPN
The Atlanta Falcons have discussed several trade offers for Julio Jones, including an offer for a future first round draft pick, per sources.

There is a sense around the league a trade could go down as early as next week.

I saw that and wondered how old he was since it's been forever since he played.

A 38-YO running back!?

He'll always be remembered for trucking Landry.

But is a poor decision. Mortgaging the future. A 1st round pick should be a long-term young starter, not a receiver who has lost a step and well into his 30s with insane contract. Trading for Jones is the kind of mistake we used to make.

I had thought GB might trade a 2nd for him, appease Rodgers, but a 1st is just too much.

I partly agree with you - 1st round pick is too much unless it's a team who is one #1 WR away from being a SB contender. Jones might be older and not the same as he was a few years ago, but he is still a WR that can make huge difference for an offense. Last year, Falcons and Ryan played well when Jones was on the field and struggled without him.

I had the same thought about GB, I think trading for Jones might help Rodgers feel a little better. Adams and Jones on the same field would make everything easier for Rodgers - all he needs to do is just to throw it up and let the guys catch it.

Thank goodness Dan and Vinnie aren’t putting up 2 number ones for Jones. 🤦*♂️

Agree.
Be interesting to see.
Seen crazier things than Tebow as TE 3 or 4
