Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
How shocking would it be if they took another wideout at #48?

Very. I don't see that happening at all!

Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
Yeah I don't see it either. I just thought with Zorn, maybe he'd like his own set of new receivers -- especially since Moss and Randle El haven't been able to get it together.
But they have to address secondary and O-line, no doubt. |

Agreed. We're pretty set now, where else would we put another WR?

Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
id rather have el and moss in the slots and bigger guys on the outside. could be a young potent influx of guys in that position

Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
maybe take limas sweed too? have two receivers to grow around and campbell? not a huge need, but could be a nice luxury

Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
I worry about bust potential for Thomas too, but there again, kudos to the FO for trading down into the second to minimize the impact if that happens.

I must say though, I was surprised everyone stayed away from wideouts in the first round.

Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
Just got back from the draft party at FedEx...incredible time!
I love the trade down even though we didn't make away with a huge advantge value wise. We get more young Redskins which is is what we need.

Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
As a supporter of the CJ trade, I must say that I'm glad things turned out this way. I really didn't know if any teams were going work with us to trade down, and that picking a WR at 21st would be too much. I wonder if the change in $$ that happens between being picked 21st and being picked 34th is different enough to make someone like Devin Thomas work harder to prove himself.
Well I'm avery happy with three picks in the second rounds, given the talent and our needs I think this fits nicely. I really hope the lack of offense was more from the coaching philosophy rather than the need to an explosive receiver. I do hope that Mix and Thomas can contribute to the offense (and that we don't need to go after oldheads at WR)

Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
I like Thomas in the 2nd. Excellent trade down.
If we can land Groves in three picks, that would be money. |

Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
I'll be happy with Laws, Groves, or Campbell with our next pick. Hey SS, whatever happened to Carl Nicks? At one point he was projected as a 1st rounder and he's been dropping in most mocks to the late 2nd/third.

Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
I think Jordy is gonna be the best WR of the draft (followed by Thomas of course
