Re: Build the Redskins for 2012
First off you'd like to think we can get a QB, however I just dont see us in a positon to get Luck, and after watching him last night....not overly impressed. I say we go Blackman WR from Oaklahoma St. True #1 receiver we have lacked for the better part of 15 years. He looks like a freak of man and can make an immediate impact on offense.
I think we can build the offensive line in 2nd and 3rd rounds, going guard and RT. I think Jamaal Brown has been playing relatively good and has another year or two in him, so if there is a better player, maybe a DT, CB that is available in the 3rd maybe we go that route. I beleive we can get a QB of 2nd round or even 3rd (if we have multiple picks in those rounds). I believe Cousins from Mich St, Texas A&M QB (name slips) Baylor's RGIII, may slide up the boards, but I think they could possibly be around in the 2nd round. Offensively we have to draft studs this year, which is why I am going after Blackman, he seems like the most immediate impact player we can get next year. WIth progressions of Paul, Hankerston, Austin, we could have a decent little corp. Trade Moss, get what you can. Resign OUR guys. Landry, Fletcher. Let Riley play at some point, I think the guy will be decent. |

Re: Build the Redskins for 2012
- Re-sign Davis, Fletcher, Landry (none for elite money)
- Re-structure Cooley, Hall, Atogwe contracts - Cut Beck, McIntosh, Doughty, Banks, Brown - Draft a QB and 2 O-linemen in the first 3 rounds of the 2012 draft - Sign a #1 WR and a legit nickel corner in free agency |

Re: Build the Redskins for 2012
If CB position is that much of a problem, then the team f*cked up by not signing Johnathan Joseph or Nnamdi this past offseason. There aren't any good FA CBs this upcoming offseason except Finnegan, and he's a head case.

Re: Build the Redskins for 2012
I would argue that Carlos Rogers should have been re-signed. He could have been retained for less than signing Joseph or Asomugha, and he's among the better cover corners that is also very physical against the run (much moreso than either of our starting CBs). The only thing preventing Rogers from elite status was his inability to catch the ball, but he seems to be doing that for SF now.

Re: Build the Redskins for 2012
It is a problem, Vinny ****ed up by giving Hall a huge contract which basically prevented the skins from signing Rogers back and souring his attitude. Hall and Wilson are at best average, this team needs a good cover corner.

Re: Build the Redskins for 2012
There were two great cover corners available this past offseason, so b*tch at the FO for that.

Quote:
Brent Grimes Tracy Porter Cortland Finegan Tarrell Thomas Those are the FA corners that will be available come this offseason. I highly suggest we bring in one of them and cut DHall.

Re: Build the Redskins for 2012
..and neither of them wanted any part of us. You can't force free agents to come to DC.

Re: Build the Redskins for 2012
Hmmmmmmmmmm I am GM huh?
1. Draft a first round QB from the following list: Moore, Foles, Keenum, Tannehill, Landry,Griffith III, etc 2. Draft top Gs ( perferably big hogs from the Big Ten or Big 12) 3. Draft a CB 4. Lower rounds go for LB and another CB or S. 5. Resign Fletch at all costs if the Skins experience hasn't sapped him of all his joy playing football. 6. Do whatever I can to make D Hall an ex Skin(preferably trade his ass for a mid round pick) 7. Keep Cools with a cheaper contract. 8. (optional) Draft Dan Persa or another decent QB(ie Tannehill if available) in the mid to later rounds to get a 3 QB roster going again 9. No pretty boy QBs from the West Coast allowed. We need a QB with true grit, not some pansie ass who racks up great stats against shitty competition. Sorry Pac 10 fans, but your conference sucks. At least up here in Big 10 country anybody can beat anybody on any given Saturday( ie Northwestern U beating NU last Sat or Purdue beating OSU this Sat) Last edited by GusFrerotte; 11-13-2011 at 07:42 PM. |
