Re: PFT: Predict Skins To Take Trent Williams
I just don't get why McNabb is allowed to wear his number. Aren't we suppose to unofficially retire the number of great players after they decide they don't want it anymore?
That reminds me, will anyone be allowed to wear 60 next year?

Re: PFT: Predict Skins To Take Trent Williams
from what I heard today the reason they like Trent Williams is because he can play both left and right tackle and Okung is pretty much a right tackle.
I don't care. Shanny is the expert. Let him decide. I just want an offensive lineman to solidy a position. They do seem to be high on Heyer this year at whatever position they put him at. |

Re: PFT: Predict Skins To Take Trent Williams
How can anyone be high on Heyer!! They must be high.
Like others on here have said Heyer is a "TURNSTYLE". I love the kid story I hope he is MUCH improved, but he seems slow and not vey athletic at times.

I swear when Skins fans are months removed from the last Skins game they forget the depths to which our OL sunk during the season. Heyer, the undrafted free agent, is being revered as a startable Tackle. Also, people aren't even mentioning the other Guard spot opposite of Dockery. Worse of all is, whatever season starting OL we are 'relegated' to won't have any margin of injury factored into it. Lets all remember too that starting a rookie, even if drafted at the top of the first, isn't necessarily a good thing. There is a learning curve for any rookie coming into the NFL. Same goes for the fans who want to trade into the 2nd & 3rd so we can 'take care of the rest of the OL'. Any additions we make to our OL this year will only neutralize the loss of Chris Samuels. If fans have a good memory they'd remember our OL having protection problems even when he was able bodied at the start of the last season. Building an OL will take more patience and discipline than can be yielded in just one offseason.

Re: PFT: Predict Skins To Take Trent Williams
I liked Casserly's insight on Okung vs Williams on the 'backside cut-off' and comparing Williams to Clady. Casserly gives some hints to what's looked for in an OT citing his experience with working with KS in HOU.

Re: PFT: Predict Skins To Take Trent Williams
Hey it's the number 4 pick and we really can't afford to be one of those teams that missses and is back picking in this range for the next 2-3 years. My only contribution is this, whether its Williams or Okung, it will infuse some young talent into this old, brittle offensive line and that alone is encouraging.

I'd be thrilled with either one and I don't think we can go wrong with either of them.
