I don't think Hunter is asking for a huge deal, I honestly don't know, but any reasonable deal to lock this guy up ought to be made sooner rather than later.
What I meant is: the other positions take priority over a P. I would much rather address the other positions first, I agree that having a good P is necessary, but they can be found on the cheap, other teams do it, we just happen to have a hard time finding one whether through the draft or FA.

I'm pretty sure someone would've probably already posted this but it's funny nonetheless

Of these choices, it has to be LB.

Funny how so many people picked punter when we don't have one now. Wasn't Plack cut?

I guess Randel El can start punting instead of being on the other end of the kicks.

Ya know, that's probably the most discouraging thing I have heard said about the FO. I am a big supporter of them in general, but if they went out and used a draft pick, and it was a bust, the next way to get one is to find one who is a known commodity. C'est la vie.

Not speaking on behalf of the Redskins here, but some of the concerns I've heard about Smith are his age and the fact that he's punted half his games in a dome each year throughout his career.

2) per all the threads and mock drafts the stud OT's will be gone at 13, and we don't move back because you said no additional picks so we will have to get a LB(Rey) or DE(Orakpu) in the 1st to have a good draft

3) Without Taylor AND Evans, we have to fill the DE in the draft somehow.

4) that leaves OL odd man out playing with an average rightside and above average left if Samuels stays healthy.

Now if we alter the rule and make a 2nd FA pickup(which is possible) and get a decent LB/DE then OT can be addressed this year as well.
I agree with this completely.

I would say punter, but we I don't think we currently have one on the roster, so it's pretty mandatory that we pick one up.

Given our current state at the LB position (I mean right now, today), we won't function properly on D without adding OLB help.

Like CRedskins said, no Evans or Taylor leaves us in a bind at DE. Daniels will probably be back, but who knows how effective he can be given age/injuries. Chris Wilson is a small, situtaitonal pass rusher, and Rob Jackson didn't even see the field last year. If Carter and/or Daniels missed even 1 game with injury, we'd be in trouble.

So I guess O-line it is.

I have a feeling OL is what it might be.

Hopefully we find a way to address all four positions. I'll be really annoyed if we don't draft an O-lineman.

I think we should sign Hunter today, been calling for him for a while. He wants to be here and we need a punter.
Is that a prediction or a suggestion?

Well, it's not realistic to assume that we're going into the season with the current roster at DE. We might draft a guy or sign Evans, Daniels or someone else, but honestly, we're likely doing both.

Re: What Position Would You NOT Address This Off-Season

I sort of see this as a trick question because all the positions we could have *not* addressed (like DT) we already have addressed.

The position I would put the least amount of resources into is DE. But we still need bodies that we don't have right now.

I don't think we can stand pat at OT, but I don't necessarily think Jansen can't start for us either. I think it's much more critical that we get a Rabach replacement, although the FA Center market is drying up very quickly.
