Like your ideas, but not sure about eating salary cap $$$ with the recent signings. PS. Can any of you guys tell me about the neighborhoods near Bolling AFB? I am looking at making the big move to DC from Detroit and looking at potential apartments. |

Re: The Redskins want to replace Jon Jansen for good
Thomas was not so out of shape that he couldn't show up at the Combine. Malcolm Kelly had a bum knee as a Combine excuse. Besides, what kind of year did they have?
Andre Smith likely cost himself millions of dollars simply because he couldn't be bothered to hit the gym. Woe to the team which gets that head case.

Re: The Redskins want to replace Jon Jansen for good
Yeah. I think the problem was nobody took them under wing and instilled professionalism... just one of the reason's i'm anti-Hixon. F sakes the dude's got a group of professional vets who make sure they are in tip top shape and yet he can't find a way to tend to his whole flock of two f'ing rookies... don't get me started.
... i think the hope is that w/ A. Smith Buges will put the fear of God in him and Samuels will be his mentor... sort of good cop/bad cop strategy?

Re: The Redskins want to replace Jon Jansen for good
No team in the NFL would start Jon Jansen on opening day in 2009. This is some in depth knowledge JLC! Keep it up!

True. Also not hurt for 75% of the season would have been too. F*cking rookies have to get the sh*t straight. WHat the hell were they thinking getting hurt? Punks!
Seriously, they sucked. But they were hurt, for whatever reason . I'm not saying they are any good. I am saying we simply don't know and basing anything on last season is way premature. |

Re: The Redskins want to replace Jon Jansen for good
First of all Buges went through what none of us wish on our worst enemy last year... obviously his group was going to suffer a bit as he missed time and understandably would have lost focus and you know what it's ok. We weren't serious contenders and Buges has given as much of himself to the franchise as anyone there.

Re: The Redskins want to replace Jon Jansen for good
replacing jansen with runyan makes no sense, they are both out of their prime as OL and have a 3 as the first digit in their age! If anything we'd cut him and eat up his cap so we can sign either Oher or Smith from Alabama. Either way...I still think ole Vinny will do something dumb on draft day...but we can always hope for the best.

I simply pointed out that even the best coach cannot rectify an incurably bad attitude, and Andre Smith seems to have such an attitude. He drank a bit too much of that "it's all about me" poisoned koolaid.

If there's a starting quality RT sitting there at #13 and we pass... wow there's gonna be a lot of head scratching going on.

Re: The Redskins want to replace Jon Jansen for good
I'm not completely sold on Smith, I'm wondering what all the hype about this kid is. He's proved to the world that he is lazy, I'd much rather have Oher here b/c I think he will end up having a better career. And better than him would be Eugene Monroe...but him slipping to us would be a miracle.

It is possible that Oher, Monroe, or Jason Smith fall to #13. If not, there still should be Beatty and Britton, both of whom could be excellent tackles without Andre's baggage.
