Re: 2009 Pro Bowl

Congrats big mike!!!! i know what im asking for next christmas.

daseal - cooleys 5th in the NFC in receptions and third in total yards for TEs. (i think) pretty deserving imo but to each his own.

i think fletcher had a better year last year compared to this year and i should probaly check some stats before i open my mouth but he seemed to be every where last year, this year hes seemed to disappear for a few games but the man is a beast.

go skins!!! sellers being a starter makes me so freakin happy.

how does calvin johnson get snubbed? ouch.

Samuels is overrated for sure, but not anymore overrated than he has been the past gazillion years in a row he's gone. Plus, it's a down year for LT in the NFC so I can't freak out over that.

And Cooley, isn't there another thread bouncing around on here about a franchise TE receiving record or something? You would have to drop some pretty high profile fumbles for that to keep you out of the probowl.

I was really hoping that Suisham ended up sneaking through just so the the coach could be faced with the dilemma of having to decide whether or not to go for it on fourth and 7 at that 25 yard line.
Portis, Sellers, Samuels, and Cooley all had Pro Bowl worthy seasons. I guess some people just aren't happy unless they are bitchin. Cooley has more catches than Witten, and Portis is 3rd in the entire league in rushing! Hard to argue with those facts. Samuels I guess can be argued but judging offensive lineman is pretty subjective. He's a well respected left tackle and when healthy is undoubtedly one of the top ones.

More than anything, I'm glad Sellers made it. He deserves it.

Does anyone ever actually sit through an entire Pro Bowl game? Dunno, maybe it's just me.

Cooley is somewhat underserving this year, but I have man-love for him, and he got mad jobbed in 05 and 06, so I'll live with the injustice that John Carlson or Kevin Boss(?!) gets.

Re: 2009 Pro Bowl

Fletcher and Kendall both got screwed this year (Leonard Davis? Tony Romo's hand really likes that call). Rogers arguably did if you look at his total season performance, but if you just take his performance since we moved to predomantly man coverage, then he's not as good as Asante Samuel. And Chris Gamble (CAR) probably got screwed worse than Rogers did anyway.

I like how no one mentions how Deangelo Williams got snubbed....he only has the most TDs in the whole league....people are stupid when they vote. He put in a lot of hard work during the off season and it definitely shows.

What people are you referring to? The coaches and players vote carries more weight than the fans.

Plus he's been good at receiving when given the opportunity. Just like Jacobs, I don't think anyone looks forward to tackling him. Do you think he doesn't deserve to go?

Thing is he's not on the field that much as a blocking back at least not for Portis and yes I think Hedgecock is a better blocker.Jacobs is a halfback.

Re: 2009 Pro Bowl

I know Jacobs is a halfback. My comparison to him was to the punishment he brings in trying to bring him down. I would'nt trade Sellers for any other fullback in the league. The guy is a Beast. A true "smashmouth" football player and very athletic for a 280 pound fullback. As a blocker, he's pretty much an extra lineman in there, only more athletic.
