So the scenario would be Mora as HC and Zorn as OC in Seattle. Zorn wouldn't have to deal w/ the media any longer - especially DC media - and overall would avoid the kind of scrutiny that has him looking like a nervous wreck.

Bottom line: i really suspect Zorn is deciding whether the HC gig is for him (yet) and won't be surprised if we have a 2nd HC resign in two consecutive seasons.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but if he resigns and Seattle picks him up IN ANY CAPACITY then Seattle owes us compensation right? Like a draft pick or two?

Re: Zorn feels like worst coach in America.

I like Zorn... he hasn't really produced the results we as fans would have wanted. But 7-7 in his first year is decent all things considered. NOT giving him at least one more year would be beyond dumb in my opinion.

I like Zorn's attitude and demeanor. I think he has what it takes to be a HC.

A good question and I don't know the answer. I would have guessed their would be remuneration at stake but nothing more.

problem is Zorn has been rattled. If he's not working with a mental health pro now he will be by weeks end. He will quit and move next door to Mark Furman.

The last time we kept a coach for continuity's sake was when John Cooke was the owner and he stuck by Norv all that time. At least Norv had a decent offensive scheme going for him, not much else though. He didn't lose the team either, just was too laid back and didn't inspire them or give em a swift kick in the ass when needed.
thats the key term there, possible. its not even a full season yet but yeah lets continue to mimic the raiders and trade zorn for some picks.

we give JC years before making an evaluation of what type of player he is, rookie WRs get a 3 year grace period before we can expect production but lets fire our rookie coach who had us in the spotlight for a good 6 week span, bud.

go skins!!!

ps - your probaly right thoo, given our track record of always looking for the next hot name. i just dont agree with it but fan input does not matter to the front office.

Zorn needs to be back if we're serious about comitting to the long term and trying to build something. You can't go one and done and expect to grow as a team. We'll be right back to square one next year with a coaching change.

Re: Zorn feels like worst coach in America.

Now he thinks he's "Probably" not the worst coach and that the presence of alot of redskins in the probowl is evidence that the offense is playing well....

I think in about 5 years, he will. However, I don't want to wait for him to get good with 4 more bad years in DC.

While I love seeing Skins in the Probowl... its more evidence of a great marketing campaign getting the fans to vote then it is of Zorn being a good coach.

Re-cast the ballots now and we have Cooley in there... maybe Portis and Samuels.

Re: Zorn feels like worst coach in America.

Allow me to suggest just one reason why Jim Zorn might not resign his position.

As I recall, he signed a 5 year contract worth $15M - - I believe those were the reported terms. So assume for a moment that it is a flat contract and he gets $3M per year.

That means he still has $12M coming to him - - unless he quits or gets arrested for something outrageous like molesting a household pet. So, explain to me why someone would resign and leave $12M on the table?

Now, Danny Boy can surely fire him. In fact, the single best thing that Danny Boy has shown he knows how to do since he bought the Skins is that he does know how to fire people. Sometimes he fires the wrong people but he does fire them and they do stay fired - - except for Vinny who came back for seconds. But if I were Jim Zorn, I'd be looking to get fired and collect my $12M instead of quitting and going out looking for another job.

Credskins made a good point in another thread; Id like to see danny come out and give coach zorn a public endorsement that the organization is behind him, have full faith in him and that he will be the coach next year.

come on danny, this is the time when an owner should be looking to instil alil confidence and leadership. (please dont publicly endorse him now and fire him this offseason thoo)

go skins!!

this is a great opportunity for danny to show us what hes learned the past 10 years. will he step up? will he show he knows when an owner of a team must be heard?
totally agree with you man. that is the best thing he could do right now

Sadly, this hasn't happened . Instead, Vinny the goes on the Redskins nation the other day, and with EVERY opportunity to talk about it and give a vote of confidence, not a peep was said. LM didn't ask the question, which I am sure means he was told not to. We know, from ProBowl voting and recent history, that if the FO wants to make a point they have the tools and ability to do that. In the case of Zorn, Daniel Snyder's silence is deafening. In fact the last time it was this silent is when they were doing the Head Coach search last January.
I don't know how good a coach JZ can be, lord knows on the ESPN poll the first few weeks of the season, he was the Best coach, as voted by fans, but now he is shell-shocked. He needs this off-season to get here more than any other single person in the organization, to step back, take a deep breath and exhale.
I still hope Daniel Snyder would do the right thing, and step up to a podium and, with no hidden agenda, declare that JZ is going to be our coach. Maybe once the season has ended, officially.
