Springs is still pretty friggin phenomenal when healthy, which he should be for the Dallas game. I'd say Hall plays in some nickel and dime packages at first, nothing more just yet.

Anyone know what number he plans on wearing? Because it sure as shit isn't gonna be 21.

I'm ok with this since its only a one-year deal, so we haven't really committed anything to him. He can provide solid depth and it lets Springs play safety over Kareem Moore if Horton gets hurt again.

He wore #23 in Oakland

He wore 23 in Oakland and that number is open so I would imagine he'll where it here too.

This move is for depth this year, but basically a try-n-buy for the Skins. Springs won't be here next year so for the $$$ this is a good move. If Hall pans out, we've got a solid CB for reasonable money. If not, we haven't lost any future cap space and can just cut him loose.

Re: Hall agrees to one year deal with skins

Love the move because 1. you can't have too much depth in the secondary (what happens if Rogers or Landry or Horton get injured?), 2. he's got some talent, 3. he came cheap and with no long-term consequence if he doesn't play well, and most importantly: 4. he doesn't have enough status in this locker room to be a cancer. If he starts acting up or causing problems the skins will just cut him loose and be no worse for the wear. It's not like we just married the guy by giving him a 7-year deal or giving up a 2nd round draft pick for him (see dumb-ass Oakland). If he plays well, we can talk about making it a long-term relationship (and let's face it, he knows he needs to behave because this just became a "contract year" for him). If he's a turd, he's a turd that can be flushed down the toilette with no cap consequence. Good move all around IMO.

If he plays well he'll hit the market next year and get all he can, thats why the Skins had to agree not to Franchise tag him.

I imagine once he passes the physical tomorrow, they'll put out a release stating how they are adding Hall to the roster. My guess at this point is Kelly to the IR, or releasing Tryon...

Maybe he'll make the team better, but more Hall will mean less Smoot, and I'd rather lose with Smoot than win with anyone else!

Exactly how I feel.

Re: Hall agrees to one year deal with skins

I just called my brother who is a Hokie, and his initial impression was "Oh no. Problem child at Tech, problem child in Atlanta, and bust in Oakland". Let's hope Hall approaches this audition as a chance to resurrect his career and to remake his current image as a bad teammate.
