Re: Redskins 3rd string qb next season?
Once you get down to your #3 you're typically screwed anyway. I'm still not sure I would want to risk going with only 2 QBs though.

I can see where he is comming from though because of ARE's college experience as a QB. Hopefully he would only have to hand the ball off. |

Re: Redskins 3rd string qb next season?
To my knowledge, Denver is the only team that keeps 2 spots on the roster for QB.

How about Chris Simms when he is cut?

A quick check and they show 3 on their roster right now.

I agree with your 85%. He has played on nothing but shitty teams his whole career. While he's not a superstar, I wouldn't mind him one bit as a backup.

Re: Redskins 3rd string qb next season?
Apparently he's looking much healthier and really sharp in drills. Supposedly the Bucs tried trading him to the Vikings. Minnesota passed, but apparently they are still talking.

Re: Redskins 3rd string qb next season?
Simms would be a good look and the Bucs have a QC carousel.
Now that we have the WCO, we need to look to teams that run that offense for a backup. If not, just draft a QB, but I'd rather wait til next year to do that

Re: Redskins 3rd string qb next season?
You guys keep mentioning Harrington...I'd honestly put him ahead of Collins (with a new offensive system) on the depth chart.
Collins is not going to be able to repeat last season's performance if he has to play next season. The only reason he was successful is because he calls those plays in his sleep and knew where the receivers would be before they started moving. New offense, he loses his comfort level and effectiveness. Of course, he proved me wrong last year, but him in a new offense is not a good idea. |

Re: Redskins 3rd string qb next season?
It seems like most people want to use a late round pick on a #3 QB on here. But we are collectively crazy if we think we are getting Booty with a late round pick. He will go third round at worst and i doubt we will spend a #3 pick on our 3rd QB.

The transition to this new system shouldn't be too hard for him. First off he's a very sharp guy. Second, a WCO system would seem to be a perfect fit for his skill set. Third, he does have some WCO experience from earlier in his career prior to Saunders arriving in KC. There's this myth that he's only played under Saunders for some reason, but he started off in Buffalo in a different system and he was in KC before Saunders got there. Quote:

Re: Redskins 3rd string qb next season?
I am available?
Does anyone really care who the 3rd string QB is? If our 1st and 2nd string QB go down history tells us that we'll go down the shitter. I'm all for drafting a scrub QB in 7th round and hoping he turns out to be a gem.

Re: Redskins 3rd string qb next season?
Draft Kevin O'Connell.I think he'll be a great 3rd string..maybe even 2nd stringer someday.
