Re: 5 in a row or we don't go
yeah, whats the fun in giving up hope. Do i think we will run the table and get help from other teams? Not really. But i will still cheer everything on.
I officially give up hope when i stop caring if teams like Arizona and Detroit lose. |

Re: 5 in a row or we don't go
We here about none of the players like the New York Giant's Coach because he works them so hard and how everyone like Gibbs
Which one is in shape to play the 2nd half Is conditioning a problem for injures and finishing plays for 60 minutes ? I saw the tribute that Baltimore players showed and played for Sean Taylor and wished we had those kind of players that only talk a good game and not give that extra |

Uh, we're not going to the playoffs. The sooner everyone understands that, the sooner everyone can stop overreacting to every loss.

Re: 5 in a row or we don't go
I agree that we aren't a "playoff team", but 3 wins in a row and we are in the playoffs.
What are the chances of winning three in a row? Not good.

Re: 5 in a row or we don't go
We are not playing like a good team and I think we're a long, long shot to make the playoffs. But, I don't know why people can't grasp the very simple concept that our chances of making the playoffs are relative to the performance of OTHER teams. Whether we are a "playoff caliber team," doesn't depend solely on how we are playing, it depends on how we are playing RELATIVE to other teams. Four teams that are definitely in contention for the 6th seed are the Lions (who we smoked), the Cardinals (who we beat), the Eagles (who we beat once and lost to once), and the Vikes (who we have yet to play). None of those teams are dominant and none of them look like "playoff caliber teams."
We've got an average offense (17th overall) and a pretty good defense (10th overall). We've been playing well through 3 quarters of 6 of our 7 losses. Have we been good enough to close games out? Nope. Have we been making mistakes at critical points in various games? Yup. But, that doesn't mean that we can't make the playoffs. Sometimes I wonder whether the people who think that others need a dose of reality are themselves asleep at the switch. |

Too many close ones that hurt us this year. I think its possible but everyone has to be playing on theyre highest level. I hope the players arent as negative as lot of you cause then were def screwed.

But, as you noted, the point of my post was to point out that we can make the playoffs. Those that think otherwise need to take a step back, review the NFL playoff system, and look at our competition. Quite simply, the NFC sucks and so some "sucky" teams are going to be playing in the postseason. |

Re: 5 in a row or we don't go
i dont have another fall back team to cheer for so forgive me for having blind faith in hoping we do 5 straight. all the other teams are beatable in my eyes. but in the case we dont pull out of this vortex im interested in kenny phillips the safety from miami or malcolm kelly from oklahoma. we need a go to reciever who can go for the jump balls in the red zone.. |
