Re: Skins vs. Cardinals predictions

Arizona Cardinals pass defense ranks 17th after facing the likes of

San Fransisco - 32nd passing offense
Seattle - 8th passing offense
Baltimore - 14th passing offense
Pittsburg - 27th passing offense
St.Louis - 24th passing offense
Carolina - 26th passing offense

We are going to pick apart the corners and linebackers. If I'm the def. coordinator for the Cardinals, I'm going to force JC to beat me deep. With our WR's hurting, that may be tough to do. Look for Keenan to step up big time on the deep slants, and maybe we'll hit Lloyd on a deep bomb. Campbell will need to thread the needle this week and may throw a pick or two.

Redskins 35 ARZ - 14

JC has a passer rating around 100.0

Don't get me wrong because I was as excited as you were with that interception return for a touchdown, but it was just icing on the cake. If he does that when the redskins are down or in a close game, then that would be Awesome to me.

During the losses, there were too many plays that the quarterback went to his side. I don't know if I'm expecting too much, but I wouldn't rate his play as great, I think great is making big plays (when the game is still on the line). I think right now I would rate his play as average to below-average.

Re: Skins vs. Cardinals predictions

Why would it be below average? In thinking back the WHOLE season thus far, I can think of maybe two bad plays.

Well maybe average. I guess expectations from him as a high draft pick to me makes him below-average.

This will be the best game of the season. Are corners match up perfectly against there big slow wide recievers. So we have 9 people if we feel like it to stop the run. Cover 0 all day.

Going back to Rogers - he needs to start improving in his coverage and/or start working on making big plays. What I mean by big plays is - intercepting, causing fumbles, or hitting to hurt - that way, the opposing team stops throwing it his way.
Well, I would hold off on calling our defense great. We are not a great defensive football team. I think we are playing good defense right now.

I can't name a defense that is playing better in the nfl right now. Maybe except the ravens.

Great post. Makes me get warm and fuzzies when I think about JC torching them. I didn't realize until today that despite our winning record (should be 5-0) that we don't have any WR's with a TD catch. That's crazy and needs to change, hopefully starting this weekend. As much as people love Moss and ARE, wide receiver play is obviously a big deficiency on this team.

Nothing gets me more excited than the thought of yelling Cooley's name for three hours. I predict another great game for him.

Re: Skins vs. Cardinals predictions

The Redskins will start things off with a time consuming 10+ play drive that will culminate in a Ladell Betts TD reception. They'll jump to a 14-0 lead on a CP rushing TD on a drive highlighted by two clutch catches by Keenan McCardell. Arizona will go three and out for the first few drives before finally connecting on a field goal.

14-3 at the half. Second half gets off to a big start for the Redskins when, on the first play from the scrimmage Rocky picks off a pass over the middle and runs it back to the Cardinals' 8 yard line (shades of Kurt Gouveia in Super Bowl XXVI). Campbell promptly finds Cooley in the back of the endzone for a 21-3 lead

It stays that way until the early fourth when the Cardinals connect on yet another field goal to make it 21-6. After a three and out by the Redskins, the Cardinals get a couple of big plays by Edgerrin James prompting thoughts of "here we go again" but a jarring hit by Laron Landry knocks the ball loose and forces the Cardinals to punt on 4th down.

The Cardinals try some trickeration and fake the punt...unsuccessfully. Portis works the clock, until a play action to Santana seals the win 28-6.

Andre Carter adds three sacks to his resume
