Saints defense was bound to be awful, but that offensive line has inexplicably regressed. THATS a surprise. It's not that the Saints are bad, its that they are SO bad.

I'm not all that shocked at the way the season has played out, the Rams being so bad has shocked me, and I honestly thought the Bears O would take a big step forward, and it hasnt at all. The futility of the Bears and Saints on offense is probably the biggest shock to me. Maybe the fact that Romo is so good. Did not see that coming.
Excellent post. I forgot about the Rams, but their defense is so bad as well. Steven Jackson and Larry Johnson are so bad it hurts. But the Saints were supposed to be a "Super Bowl" contender this year, 1 playoff game away from the super bowl last year and so far despite Deuce's injury, they have been horrible. Brees is better than this. Romo is really good and I hate the way he smiles all the time, but he's solid.

Re: Biggest Bust as of Week 5

I'm really surprised that the Denver Bronco's are playing as poorly as they are.
I felt that they would have been able to put up more of a fight against San Diego.

41-3 is pretty sad.

Put up a fight, I thought they were going to smear the Chargers all over the walls. Maybe San Diego is turning it around!?!?

Jay Culter is so overrated. JC is more fun to watch and doesn't throw nearly as many picks. Also Travis Henry was taking bong hits before the game, so that didn't help. But the Donkeys are not as big as a bust as Champ trying to cover Gates. He was getting worked out their like Sellers works Lions DBs.

Re: Biggest Bust as of Week 5

I actually picked the Chargers over Denver in my football pool. I figured that the players, in spite of Normal Norv, will take it upon themselves to lay an ass-whoopin' on a deceptively bad Broncos team. No team as talented as the Bolts will sit around and flounder like this for too long. They'll turn it around.

As for the Chiefs, they were my pick for the team that would plummet this year. It happens all the time with Herman Edwards-coached teams. He takes whatever offense he has -- and this year it was pretty bad to begin with -- and deliberately makes them boring in incredibly ineffective.

Records aside, the Chiefs are THE worst team in football. They are horrible. They have no threats - none.

They let Trent Green go for what has amounted to 2nd string quarterbacks. Hell, they don't even have Dante Hall anymore? LJ got paid and hasn't showed up yet. I guess he's still getting into football shape?

Miami Dolphins are easily the worst team in the NFL. Chiefs are pretty bad, but their defense isn't that bad.

Just goes to show you the most important position on the field is the O line! Johnson can't create his own holes, he needs help.

Chiefs, Saints, Rams, Falcons, and any team in the AFC East not named the Patriots all have a say in the 1st pick of the draft this year.

To be a bust, you'd have to be projected to be good. We all knew the Chiefs were poop. They're just stinker poop than predicted.

The Saints win this one easily.

Re: Biggest Bust as of Week 5

worst team in the league is the bills....followed by the rams (GUS Frerotte!!!!)

The biggest busts are the Saints (0-4) and Broncos (2-3)

Everyone who watches football knew the rams were overrated.....and miami sucked already....and please, the chiefs settled on Huard. San Diego's schedule started out tough...and they have norv growing pains...but they will get in

Truth be told, they're probably pretty even. But I stand by the Chiefs being the worst in the league.

Saints in a landslide. Philly has to be up there with one win and Donovan and Brian still semi-healthy. What's their excuse?

Re: Biggest Bust as of Week 5

im going with the rams offense. how did they get so bad so quick? bulger has had big touchdown numbers, good completion percentage, and 3500-4000+ yards for a while now, jackson had a great year last year, and they still have tory holt, yet now for the first time in years they are terrible on offense. drew brees is right behind, what a terrible season for him.
