Re: Game Coverage Sucks
SmootSmack, does ESPN get all this? Do they honestly listen to the criticism? Is there a way we can voice our opinions to them? What is the reason for having guests in the booth for a quarter talking about everything BUT football? No other network has a guest line up like that!
Personally, I thought the old Sunday night crew of Mike Patrick, Paul McGuire and Joe Thiesmann was fine. |

Another postive is Parcells. He referred to the Eagles as the Philadelphia Palantonios which I found funny for some reason. His banter with Keyshawn is enjoyable too. You can tell it eats him up to have a player giving his opinion about something on an equal basis. Like watching Bobby Knight listen patiently in the huddle as one of his players tells everone what he thinks they should do. More Parcells please.

This was the first time I have ranted and complained about MNF coverage this was so so bad, Why do these commentators feel they have to put their two cents in on national television after talking about it all week to their listeners. Tricio missed so many play by play calls it was ridiculous and even when they got a call the booth idiots continued talking like it was still halftime. The sideline commentators Suzy and Michelle had to have felt so disjointed from the booth I mean you cut to them for injury update when the booth is talking about Andy Crack kids and Philly's Booing Fans !
I'm glad a found somewhere to vent my frustration over this MNF coverage.

Re: Game Coverage Sucks
Yeah Matty, alot of philly pregame jock sniffing was going on network-wide. This was one game that should serve as a building block towards a little respect. Good teams get respect by beating good teams, and philly is still a good team (defending NFC East champ).

ESPN still talking about the Eagles.
I guess them going 0-2 is bigger news than the Skins going 2-0.

Re: Game Coverage Sucks
Somehow I knew that would happen -- if the Skins won, the story would be "What's Wrong with Philly".

It's like, how could the mighty eagles get beat by those pathetic Redskins. Hey world, here is a towel to wipe off all of that egg. Put a line through the fish and the eagles. Hey giants, your ass is next. Good job Skins!

Yeah, why does ESPN feel compelled to have non-football related guests in the booth in every broadcast?

Re: Game Coverage Sucks
The pre-game coverage was ridiculous as well. You'd have thought the eagles were playing themselves. I only saw glimpses of the B&G here and there.
Being subjected to Barkley was torture. His blabbering about the Pats made me want to kick in my TV screen. |

Re: Game Coverage Sucks
Worst coverage of all-time. My wife was yelling at the TV because it was so bad and she wanted some football talk (I love her
). Kornheiser is the absolute worst, Tirico doesn't keep things on track, Jaws is alright but they never let the guy talk football. Barkley just made things worse and basically ruined the whole third quarter plus they kept showing shots of those four idiots sitting in the booth rather than actually talking about or showing anything happening on the field. Literally the worst NFL coverage I've ever seen. Oh, and then there was Barkley who just restated the same three points for 45 minutes, unbearable! Plus the announcers just kept repeated the same hackneyed soundbites on the Redskins and how they bring in high-priced players, etc. etc. like they have not looked at anything the Skins have done this offseason and have nothing relevant to say about what was happening in the game. I could go on forever! NFLN is at least giving the Skins some love and Adam Schefter and TD actually pointed out the obvious point that all the 'experts' just look at what happened last year rather than remembering that the Skins were 10-6 in 2005. Oh, and can we get some info on the Randy Thomas injury during the telecast? Geez!
