Good deal. I like the steady pace of our off season at this point. Now lets address the D line and have a smart draft .
Was wondering does anyone know? Do we have all our draft pick for 2008?

As of right now we have all of our picks next year.

ian scott next? if so, we'll probably go straight up DE in the draft and all the needs will have been addressed in some fashion.

i don't think he'd be getting 3mill to be a backup... someone is probably moving to guard (him or jansen), though i guess its possible we'll try mulitalo too, but i just don't see throwing that much money on the OL.

with the remaining space, i'd really like to see ian scott signed as a #2 DT, but i don't think the skins are interested.

I agree. Why is everyone concerned that we paid too much? You know what I'M HAPPY ABOUT? I'm happy about the fact that we didn't just sign him to a fat contract right out of the gates. We knew he wanted to start, we waited for interest to dry up and then we went out and signed him at a reasonable contract. Bravo front office, Bravo.

If we sign Ian Scott, I firmly believe we're going to do a little wheeling-and-dealing in the draft to still pick up one of the top DEs (any of the big three should be available at the Texans spot) and get another early round pick that we can spend on whatever we want!

Yes, I agree with Malcolm here. The FO did the right thing on Wade. Wait it out and then get it done for way less than you would have at the beginning of free agency.

Kudos to the FO, this is a good move!

Let's compare Wade's contrcat to Dock's contract and dcide who we'd rather have. Is there anyone who thinks Dock at his current price is a better option at guard than Wade at his current price? I doubt it.

Re: Redskins Sign Todd Wade to 2 year deal

I agree that this is a good signing--especially given the over-inflated market for o-linemen. Hey, if you want quality, you've got to pay. There's no free lunch. Wade is a quality backup, and we saw that he could start in the NO game. One thing this team needs is DEPTH, people. This is the right way to spend the Danny's money, IMO.

As for that other rumor, blah. Do not worry about that nonsense...

It also could wind up that if Wade DOES start at guard, he could be an "upgrade" over Dockery. At least Wade has the athleticism to actually pull when asked.

it'd really cement a good offseason. not flashy, but still fairly impressive. if we don't sign ian scott, we should probably go okoye. If we do, we could drop a bit and take carriker (+3rd round OG) and i'd be pretty happy about that.

Re: SKINS agree with terms with OL WADE

I was thinking maybe even look at a CB. I REALLY would like to know what they plan on using Wade for before I made that judgment, but if he really is taking over for Dock, it couldn't hurt to get a CB with that pick just in case. Nickel would be a great starting place.

Re: (Merge) Redskins Sign Todd Wade to 2 year deal

I heard Scheffter last night and I did not think he said flat out that the skins were trying to move up for Russel. I took it as more of a general comment that teams in the top of the draft may think about moving up after the Russell workout. He did mention the word Redskins but I took it as nothing more than speculation since they pick high and were on hand at the workout. It was no big deal...he was not really reporting anything.
