I think it was unfair of people to expect that out of him right away. He had a good first year, a slightly average second year, and now it's his third year and he should be back to good again. While I don't think our problems are solved, I think that Rogers is getting a lot of undeserved blame.

If he lived up to a #39 status I think we'd all be thrilled as a matter of fact.

For the record, I am a card carrying Rogers basher and have been very disappointed in his play. My expectations are biased due to his top draft billing; however, I am still hopeful (and actually optimistic) that he will perform better this year and prove me and the other doubters wrong. After his third year, we'll know a lot more about Rogers.

as I said with smoot...whatever has to be done...has to be done to ink smoot and keep springs. Period. whether springs plays safety or cb. Think about playing these five in nickle or dime.....rogers,smoot, springs, taylor, and whoever else and that looks real good one paper. sneak AA on a blitz....sure sounds good.

I think it is crucial for Springs to stick around, the guy is a good player when healthy, and he is the only real depth we have at the CB position.

I agree that he is crucial, not for depth, but for the fact that he is the only guy (whether we sign Smoot or not) that has proven that he can take on the other team's number one. If they let him go, the secondary is in worse shape than it was last year.

If Freddy comes in, I predict a big year out of Rogers. Last year there was nobody who could challenge him for his starting spot. A friendly competition between Rogers and Smoot can only help the team.
