Re: Novak Is Not The Answer!
hall and novak both gotta go. hall ain't healthy and novak ain't meant for the NFL. I doubt we'll be able to draft crosby (who's the best upcoming kicker in years), but boy would it be nice. too bad we didn't get longwell when we had the chance.

Re: Novak Is Not The Answer!
yes this should have been addressed in the offseason, but this regime has shown a tendency to overlook the obvious, novak will probably be here next yr unless he just stinks it up completely the rest of the year

well, he's what? 2/5 now? i mean, yeah he won a game, but 1/4 from 30+ is what i'd call stinking it up. |

Re: Novak Is Not The Answer!
he's a vagrant kicker for a reason. his leg strength is WAY better than it was last year though.

Re: Novak Is Not The Answer!
there are plenty of good college kickers that go undrafted every year. lets look to youth, and keep that guy for a couple of seasons. instead of looking for a new kicker every year

Re: Novak Is Not The Answer!
unfortunately that's not really true. last year only one good kicker came from college, and he went in the 4th round (but vinetari and longwell were available!). this year's draft is quite a bit deeper, but good kickers aren't easy to find... there were a couple decent punters last year though, and there'll be about 3 more this year. sepulveda being the best at punter, and crosby at kicker (possible 2nd rounder)

Young kickers coming out of college are such a crapshoot. So many times they don't really develop until a few years down the road. How many kickers each year taken in the draft become a teams' regular kicker? Maybe 1 or 2 per year at the most? |
