Worrying about the long snapping situation is a different story. If Sundberg can't cut it, we need someone else. I heard the Red Snapper is available.
Has anyone said Sundberg is not cutting it? He was an excellent long snapper at Cal. I was expecting him to have no problems coming in here and taking over at the LS spot.

There have been a few reports of snapping problems in camp, such as this one:

LS Nick Sundberg. He had another low snap on a field goal attempt in which Josh Bidwell made a good save. Graham Gano still made the kick, but I’ve seen too many of his snaps hit turf before hands.

QB Donovan McNabb. He still could be adjusting to the offense. He could be bothered by the fact that he really only has one proven receiver. Or he could just be having a bad camp. It’s only 10 days into camp so it’s not time to panic. However, McNabb had another bad day Saturday. He’s waiting too long after the receiver cuts to make the pass, a sign that he perhaps does not yet trust them. Receivers who have broken free on crossing patterns often have to reach back inside to make a catch. His passes have allowed beaten defenders to recover. At what point do you get concerned? If he has a bad preseason, too.
LoL, that's gotta be from John Keim.
I kinda take any local sports media critique of acutual on the field play with a truck load of salt.
I doubt wether a) Keim can identifiy why McNabb may or may not be late on his throws (trust) b) Keim realizes that they are building chemistry and timing in the practices
c) does he take into account which receivers he's out of sync with?
d) wether or not he was under duress/which defenders they were going against
etc...etc...etc...
At what point do i get concerned?-Never
Edit:If he gets hurt
We're talking about Donovan McNabb not some unproven journeyman.
I won't be concerned if McNabb throws a billions ints in practice and in preseason, although i doubt he will.
Over the course of his career he's throw an astonishingly low number of ints and proven to be not just a top tier QB but a playmaker.

Craziness.

Still, you have to be wondering in the back of your head about the answer to the biggest question of all. Why did the Eagles do the unthinkable and dump him? ANother thing, if the guy only has one trusted WR in preseason practice thus far, do you really think it is going to all of a sudden be hunky dory come Sept 12 unless the other guys step it up? Give the team another 3 weeks to get the rust completely shaken off then one can truly start worrying. If it is August 20 and media guys or fellow posters covering camp practice report the same things then you should worry. If we have preseason game performances ala the Zorn era worry like crazy.

Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread

I think he is playing most of his time at the RE position. That is what has been stated as his primary function, with NT being used on passing downs.

Like Matty stated he needs to be up to speed on the NT position and running him with the second team in camp is great because it doesnt ake away reps from KEMO ( who coming of injury needs as many as he can get ) our primary starting NT and gives him plenty in all the defensive looks. Gives he guy the opportunity to learn the NT position assignments in all of our different looks.

I know Haslett has some nice plans for him, just hope it isn't as a full time NT.
he was seeing doubles quite a bit as DT too

Crap, I know it's only preseason but Doug Free is actually looking good at LT for the Cowboys. Is anyone else watching the HOF game?

Nope, I'm watching the arrows and dots on NFL.com. For some reason the game lacks luster.

Yeah, but you are lined up against the entire interior line Tryfuhl. If there are like 5-6 OLs he will get a possible 3rd lineman on him.

Just wait till Doug Free goes against Albert and Orakpo, then we'll still see if he looks that good going against players like that and not players that are recovering from offseason knee surgery( Antwan Odom)

I guess i would be worried if i thought that McNabb was done, which i suspect is what you believe.
But, your question has been answered by the people that made the decision:

Donovan didn't do it. Kevin hasn't even tried yet. But at that point, it really became [a question of] one of them has a chance to lead us for the next eight to 10 years . . . one, who knows? One year? Four years? But a considerably shorter time."

"We weren't in a panic mode, because we could've waited another year and it could've played out that way - but if we waited a year, maybe there would've been much less market value for Donovan," Lurie said. "He wouldn't be under contract to us, so we probably would've had to franchise him to have market value."

"It wasn't an easy decision, just a slam dunk, for me," Reid said. "You've got to evaluate age and you've got to evaluate what's left in the tank, who has the upside and who doesn't. You want to make sure you got maximum value for your football team because I'm not into giving good players away. I don't want to do that.

"Brett Favre was the last big-time [quarterback] to go someplace, and Brett was a little bit older. Green Bay got a fourth-round pick for him, so if it was going to be Donovan McNabb, who I figured could probably pull the most for our organization, I wanted to make sure it was at least close to what he was worth."

Well first i would have to agree with Keim that their is only 1 trusted WR in practice which i don't.
I've heard good reports about Moss, Williams, Galloway and Austin not to mention Cooley and Davis.

Quote:

Now it seems you kinda switched the convo from being about McNabb to being about the receiving corps.
And yes i think its going to be fine because i don't think anything is wrong.
Its training camp in a new scheme with some new receivers and with a new QB there are gonna be growing pains.
Again, i'm not going to follow the word of 1 sports media dude.

Quote:

Nope still won't be worried.
We're talking about Donovan McNabb dude not a journeyman or a rookie.
You're not going to erase his history because of a couple bad practices.

Nope not even then.

Even w/ DM does anyone really think that this offense is going to average 24 to 28 points? I don't.

I don't think we will score 28 ppg. But I do wonder about our depth chart.

Do only the 1st through 3rd teamers stay at the cut?
