I was very impressed how he ran the 49 offense yesterday. They have an identity. Not asking Smith to do too much. Simply a great hire.

Daddy Shanahan: What hurry up offense?

Son: Oh yea we don't have one. What offense should we run?

Daddy: What offense?

Re: What's your take on our coaching?

I think our coaching is next to impossible to evaluate when our play is so piss poor. I wouldn't go blaming either Shanahan for our offensive woes when Gaffney is our number one WR, our O-line is banged up, our starting RB is gone, our best pass catcher (Davis) is banged up, and most importantly we don't have a qb. On the rare occasion that a pass play works and a player is open, beck either misses the target or throws to someone in quadruple coverage.

The only blame can go to the personnel brought in, but even then I can't blame him that much. He inherited a team with no young players, and no talent. Our offense is terrible, but defense was the priority to fix, and although I think our defense is mediocre, it has been greatly improved and should have been the focal point of the fixing. Imma give shanny 2 more years before I truly start to make judgments on him. Bellicheck wouldn't be doing well at this point if he were in shanny's shoes. God I hope we get a high draft pick.

I still don't understand this. If the Shanahan's were going to install an offensive system regardless of the roster, then building up the offense should've been the priority.

They(coaches) are trying to make chicken salad out of chicken poop but Harbaugh's chicken salad looks great.

Re: What's your take on our coaching?

I was a little more impressed by Kyle against the Niners. Although we still did not really run the ball, we had lots of short outlet passes which resembled runs - kind of like long hand-offs. This meant that we were not putting the QB in the position where he had to win the game for us, unlike in games past. Asking either Wrecks or Beck to win the game for us, as we have done in several games, has no hope of working. Kyle's game plan against the Niners was an improvement.

I don't pretend to follow the Niners that much but it looks like they have some good pieces.

Frank Gore is a top 5-10 back.
They have a good OL.
Patrick Willis is really good.
Young talent on defense.
Davis is a good TE.
Ginn is a ST weapon.

So, theyve got some pieces to work w/.

More than Shanny had when he took over that's for sure.

Re: What's your take on our coaching?

Apparently we're not rebuilding...

dcsportsbog Dan Steinberg
Shanny tells Grant Paulsen he doesn't even know what he means by "rebuilding."

RickMaese Rick Maese
Shanahan doesn't use word "rebuilding." Says young guys are in there because of injuries #redskinswp

...or maybe we are!

dcsportsbog Dan Steinberg
And now Shanahan says he told Kyle two years ago they were going to have to rebuild the football team.

True, but when given square pieces, Harbaugh does a great job of making the holes square to fit them in. Good D, good running game- manage it well and don't force Alex Smith to win or lose the game for you. He's done a fantastic job at adjusting the game plans to accentuate his players strengths. Shanahan- not so much. He did a better job yesterday with the quick throws, but overall, he's trying to force his system, and not really adjusting.

Re: What's your take on our coaching?

Speaking of coaching, kudos to Wade Smith for turning the Texans into a top D:

"AlbertBreer Albert Breer
Absolutely stunning: The Houston Texans have the NFL's No. 1-ranked defense. They were 30th last year. Amazing work by Wade."

But I guess the Texans were able to do this because they have a potent offense. I really thought the move would be a waste of Mario Williams, but when he was healthy he played well.

Wade Phillips? I think Wade Smith actually is a lineman for the Texans though...
