Re: Brunell??
I was really impressed with Brunell shuffling that ball out of bounds once it hit the end zone. It was just miscommunication between Mark & Portis, but as much as I knocked him after last year, that showed the presence of mind a true veteran has to have. In that same situation, as much as I like Ramsey, I shudder to think what his reaction would have been.

If you can't handle my reply's than I would advise you not to take shots at me, unfortuantly you have a tough time with people who actually know the game, I mean really do you actually think your an individual who can add real insight to the breakdown of a game? Your better off doing exactly what you do take shots at what others are saying, you are quite the moderator. So hear it is I know you love to fall back on the I know everything argument to make yourself feel more important because you can't really converse with me with actual substance, unfortuantly when you continually take shots as you do, I have to back myself up, and point out what I have said to back it up, you label me as a no it all, I am not a no it all, I just don't back down when I am right just because your crying about it. There are individuals on this site who think for themselves, and those who just put on the burgandy and gold glasses and agree with everything Gibbs say's and does, guess which one you are? "Hello Mr. Gibbs, this is Tafkas, what should I be thinking this week?" As far as the bear is concerned, I did have a nice conversation with him, I said Mr. bear do you follow football? He said yes, he's a bear's fan, I then mentioned your name as a football expert, he then proceeded to laugh himself to death, I will send you the rug. |

You are right though, that Samuels vs. Berry matchup will be key this weekend. Right up there with this weekend's other key matchups -Marvcus Patton vs. Stump Mitchell, Roy Green vs. AJ Johnson, Neil Lomax vs. Dexter Manley...really though, if Samuels can't stop Bertrand "Street Clothes" Barry this weekend then we've got problems

Re: Brunell??
brunell wasn't impressive, but he was solid... the real reason is the run game was just so good vs a terrible defense that we didn't need to pass that much.

Re: Brunell??
Brunell is efficient. Almost three times the amount of TDs to INTs is what we needed from a QB. Taylor Jacobs and Jimmy Farris have to make a difference immediately. Brunell has my respect. He gave me a win over the most hated team in the NFL in their backyard. Now I will nominate him as the greatest Redskins QB of the last ten seasons after he beats Dallas, New York and Philly.

Re: Brunell??
I just don't understand Taylor Jacobs. All I've been hearing is how great he looked in training camp, and I think Champ Bailey once said that he was one of the hardest WR to cover.......so, why is he stinking it up NOW knowing very well that this may be his last shot as a Redskin??? I think getting a bonafide 2nd WR to compliment S Moss should be our priority during off-season (along with pass rushing DE).

Re: Brunell??
I've said this before...but ill reiterate...i feel like the offensive position that would help us the most is getting a beastly tight end. I think that would do wonders for opening things up for our receivers. If we played with cooley and the beast (and i continue to hold out false hope that this beast will go by the name of Vernon Davis) then i think our receivers would look like allpros...and once we got the LONG TERM QB situation figured out...i dont see any reason why this offense couldnt be among the best in the league.
So its not like i wouldnt want another good 2nd receiver...its just i feel that if we had to add one impact player on offense, a tight end to pair with cooley would do the most to improve our offense for the long haul...and even next year. Finally, I am willing to give Taylor Jacobs some more time by the way. He was a second round pick (we dont get too many of those...which makes him real rare)...and he hasn't gotten too much playing time due to injuries. Hopefully now that he is playing he will get up to speed...and start showing off the skills that Gregg Williams and the guys who have to go against him in practice every day have been seeing. I think it is just a matter of playing time for him to get his confidence up..before he becomes really good. |
