Re: The lone bright spot..
I watched the replays. Sean T did take bad angles and missed some tackles. He also never quit the entire game and saved a couple of big plays from going all the way. He looked like a very talented 2nd year player trying to make something happen. He worked hard, but it wasn't his day either.
What really gets me is that good teams don't collapse like we did against the Giants. The Giants played a good game, but we imploded. It's time for a gut check. The way I saw it, we needed to win 2 of the 3 games starting with the Giants. We lost that one, so now we can win the next two and be fine. Hopefully we just got overconfident after the niners (which by the way beat Tampa). Sometimes, when it rains it pours.

Re: The lone bright spot..
That late hit call was bullony, the ref marked the ball where he stopped rolling to even after he was hit by a skin to make him hit the gound and roll and the they called taylor for a hit on the rolling giant while also giving forward motion of 2 or 3 yards after being brought to the ground.it was another bad call in a line of bad calls.it doesn't excuse they this game because there isn't any.it's a real head shaker

Re: The lone bright spot..
The late hit was a legit call, c'mon now guys.
The ball carrier was on the ground and the play was blown dead, Taylor came in and didn't just fall on the guy which he may have gotten away with, but instead he turned his shoulder and smashed into him right in front of the ref no less. I don't care who you are, that's a penalty 10 times out of 10. Dumb play, dare I say a 'meathead' play?! Somewhere SC is smiling. |

Re: The lone bright spot..
I can concede that Taylor took bad angles, but that's because he's such an agressive player. You know who is really to blame for all the big runs? Gregg Williams and that weak ass D Line. Because our defensive line sucks so bad we have to blitz on every down. Because we blitz on every down we pretty have 1 linebacker. That leaves only the safeties to make the tackle once a player gets to the second level. I guess now the media can point to ST as the freelancer that costs the Skins games. Ridiculous. If they want to stop the run they have stop blitzing so much and leave the linebackers in on some plays, not just use them to create pressure on the passer.

Re: The lone bright spot..
Sean Taylor was responsible for the first long run, period. He took a horrible angle. Holdman was responsible for the second, and both got my vote for goat of the game, along with the left side of our offensive line. Our defensive line is crap other than Griffen, and I'm still scratching my head over the cutting of Warner this preseason. Did anyone honestly think Phillip Daniels would be an upgrade? And the cutting of Garnell Wilds. Whatever Gregg. Also, Holdman should be backup MLB, because Keary Cambell or whoever #50 is sucks. Why do we get these little punks who aren't big enough (Jared Newberry, Keasy, Campbell)? Who cares if they look good in the second half of preseason games? Rant over.
