Re: Dallas Week, Part 1
This is basically a must win game, you can't start 3-4 and 1-4 in the NFC If you want to compete for the playoffs. Dallas Defense is awful, if we cant score 30 this week we are just not very good.

Re: Dallas Week, Part 1
I think it is about as close to a must-win at this point in the season as it can be for a team hoping to compete in January. At 3-3, we have Dallas (away), KC (away), Seattle (home), Detroit (home), and then Miami (Spain). KC away is going to be hard as they're playing much better football right now. The Seahawks have oddly been better on the road than at home this season. And you know Detroit will want revenge from last season too. Dallas is our best bet for a win until week 11 with Miami, and if we're 3-7 at that time (and losers of 5 straight), the season will have been lost. We really have to beat Dallas and beat either Seattle or Detroit (to keep pace at 5-5 and not fall farther behind to NFC teams, having now lost to GB, ATL, and CHI) to have a realistic shot. We should beat Miami, and then we'll have a run of NFCE games (and Denver) after the bye -- and anything can happen in conference games as we know.
But I hope this weekend, they can stay focused on the task at hand. Beat Dallas.

Re: Dallas Week, Part 1
This actually is a Code-Red game. Don't see us beating the Chiefs and Lions (I'd gladly take 1 out of 2). Losing to the Bears was so fucking pathetic. Even with the refs cheating for us, we couldn't win. Sad sad sad.
This is either going to be the worst fucking week to play Dallas or the best. If we lose this one, the misery is just further extended. We win, all is right in the world and we're winning the Super Bowl.

Re: Dallas Week, Part 1
Shit - McLaurin ruled out for Sunday. That’s really bad. We need WRs healthy if this is going to be a shootout. Ugh.

Re: Dallas Week, Part 1
On the other hand, Cowboys CB Treyvon Diggs is out after suffering a concussion in an accident at home. That's crazy. So their secondary will likely be even worse.

Re: Dallas Week, Part 1
Not only is McLaurin out but Lamb is in. Receivers have been a problem for us. I do like Lane/McCaffrey, but there's only so far they can take us. SMH. Well we didn't expect to beat the Chargers, so hopefully we have a similar surprising outcome.

Re: Dallas Week, Part 1
Minus 3 WRs, still worried way more about our sorry ass defense.
And we're really only down 2 WRs, because no one really ever expects Noah Brown to play. Jayden can beat Dallas if the defense can contribute anything.

Re: Dallas Week, Part 1
This is the game for our young guns to shine. I am hoping to see Luke and Ben both take big steps. It really depends on JD5 though he has to trust them and throw to them. It's definite that Ben hasn't gained JDs trust. I think he has 2 catches - a TD from Mariotta and a first down from Tress on a fake punt.

Re: Dallas Week, Part 1
Just an observation on Sinnott. He's shown some great blocking plays on multiple occasions. It feels to me that they're bringing him on more as Bates understudy, or at least first improving his blocking rather than using him more in the passing game. I wonder if this is because Ertz has played so well and is getting the big money while Ben is on a rookie contract? He doesn't seem very vocal and the staff seem to have faith in him, so I wonder if there's a plan in place that he's the heir apparent rather than being expected to dislodge Ertz?
I agree we need the young guys on O to step up, but I think it's probably more important to see that on D. Get those young, fast LB's on the field on passing downs and remove the weakness that is Wagner's pass coverage. I want to see Reaves and Martin step up and better cover deep (and for crying out loud TACKLE!). I want to see Sainristil get his head out of his ass and play like, or better, than he did last year. I think the talent and capability is there. They have to show it. |

Re: Dallas Week, Part 1
Horrible news. JD5 will basically have to be Superman for us to win. Hopefully he'll have some dudes to throw to. Injury bug ravaging this team this year.
