Re: Madden to NBC in 2006
I like the Duo of Theismann and McQuire. I like the way they interact with one another. And sometimes they even have two very different opinions.
Wolfeskins I too can't stand the Fox announcers.

Re: Madden to NBC in 2006
I can't stand the fifth tier announcers on any network. Unfortunately, that's who covers the Redskins, by and large. If Don Criqui and Tim Green are calling the game, I'm definitely listening to Sam, Sonny, and old what's-his-name.

Re: Madden to NBC in 2006
I've heard that NBC is expected to select between Marv Albert or Bob Costas, with Albert having the slight advantage. But this was several months ago so that may have changed

Re: Madden to NBC in 2006
I can't believe you people don't think Brian Baldinger isn't the top announcer in all of football.....both him and Bill Maas should be elevated up to the top! LOL!!!!

Re: Madden to NBC in 2006
I personally was hoping Madden would retire because he's more annoying than anything else now a days and is a shell of his former broadcasting self. The only time I watch Monday night football anymore is for a skins game cuz I can't stand to listen to Madden blather on for more than a short period of time. It also still feels weird that NBC is gonna have football other than arena football and notre dame. and this may be a dumb question but I just can't remember, is CBS still gonna have pro football coverage? cuz I think they have the best duo right now in Phil Simms and Gumbell, which I think they r changing by putting simms in the studio and Phil nance or whatever his name is in the booth, but I cn't really remember.

Re: Madden to NBC in 2006
I just hope that the NFL NEVER decides to turn to pay per view for their games....especially playoff games and the Super Bowl. I believe there is just some enterainment that needs to remain virtually free for us to watch on tv.

Re: Madden to NBC in 2006
On the Around the League segment Adam Schaefer indicated that NBC is interested in talking to Michaels about the 2006 Sunday Night Football job

Re: Madden to NBC in 2006
Al Michaels is one of the top football commentators in my opinion. I always loved hearing Pat Summerall and John Madden though. Summerall just seemed to have this warmth to his voice that doesn't get on your nerves like Maas or Baldinger.
I'll admit that Madden isn't the same John Madden - but the guy is getting pretty old!
