It shouldn't be, this is football. It was a clean hit in the pocket. The NFL needs to fix that QB BS. Cost us games last yr as well

As a Buckeye's fan , this is what we saw . Just throws too many passes flatfooted . Really poised , smart young man , as he gets more reps / coaching as with learning the playbook , he should improve .

Re: Dwayne Haskins preseason thread

Just finished working the game, Haskins on the run and throwing? Not very accurate, his 1st throw was awesome, the deep shot that was a fumble? BIG TIME NFL Throw. He runs well (like Ben did), but we do not want that to be a habit. OL was really bad, especially on tape.. Yikes. Not as bad as Miami's (Rosen had no help).

Baker Mayfield is fucking sick, but we all know that already.

Re: Dwayne Haskins preseason thread

Dwayne had a 32 Grade for passing, his 2 INTs were the worst of the night along with Rosens. Very rough start but he did have a few great throws and picked up the speed well. The picks will come and go.

Hard to judge Haskins since he was playing with a bunch of scrubs on the OL, same for Keenum. From what I saw, Haskins had some good and bad throws. Put the starters there I think and I think it be much better.

Without a doubt. Guice and Peterson will help him a ton also. Really thinking we'll see more of the starters in the 2nd and 3rd preseason games. We sure need to.

I was more than satisfied with watching him play. Good mobility and can make all the throws. That's what elite arm talent looks like.

Just watched that play again, it's a clean hit, defender wraps his arms in a conventional tackle, and the hit is initiated well above the knees. Foul is only when the hit is initiated at or underneath the knees. But that was scary.

He was up and down. Footwork was a little sloppy. The picks and the footwork gets better with reps. Start him next week with the starters and let him chuck it 25 times. Let him play through mistakes.

I keep saying it, Case and Colt are not 16 game starters. Get Haskins ready to start week one.

Re: Dwayne Haskins preseason thread

I didn't see any problems that can't be fixed with practice reps and game experience.

I did see the arm strength and the mobility.

TL;DR: He needs time. Best case scenario Keenum holds it down for a year and we start Haskins in 2020.

This is on the front office. Some of our backup o-linemen should be playing in Canada, cause they're not good enough to be on an NFL field. Parris and Flowers should not be in the NFL.

I think we need to find out this year what we have in Haskins. He needs to play.

Re: Dwayne Haskins preseason thread

Not that I ever would want Snyder to do this except this one time...lol. I wish he'd go into Gruden's office and tell him we're going with the rookie. It's going to be a rough beginning but we're playing for the future. Get him ready and give him all the 1st team reps.

It did Mayfield not one bit of good sitting behind Taylor. The Cards are starting Murray. Josh Allen, Wentz and Darnold all played early as rookies. Why should Haskins be any different?

First of all, don't put that past Snyder. Secondly, Mayfield had a heckuva lot more starting experience than Haskins. Haskins has few starts at the college level, yet alone at the NFL. Haskins needs to improve his footwork. Mayfield's fundamentals are superior to Haskins as rookies. Most rookies qbs do better not starting and observing year 1. I feel Haskins should be no exception to this.
