I think Kirk and Alex were almost the same quarterback this year. It's almost a straight up swap, except I am pretty sure Alex isn't costing us $25 million a year, he is signed longterm without the drama, and we can use our first rounder on a running back or defensive player.

I like it. You bring in a guy Gruden can use in his offense, end the drama around KC , and bring in an understudy in the 3rd/4th round that can be groomed. Don't understand why anybody would be upset. Tentative maybe but hating the move? I don't get that

He is not Mcnabb, he is cheaper version of kc. He signed a four year extension and is here to stay for a while

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith

Been awhile since I've been on here fellas, but had to come back for this one. I think it is premature to hate on this trade. What are our other options? A journyman free agent who won't be good enough, or taking a risk on a draft pick that may or may not pan out.

Now we at least have stability for several years with a QB who is no worse than Cousins, possibly better if they assemble the right WR corp and draft a good running back this year. I think it is a good likelihood that we won't break the bank on Smith's extension like we would have with Cousin's. Smith gets a fresh start and a chance to prove the critics wrong once again.

Check out the graph in the article. The Chiefs went out and got Alex a dynamic RB and their offense flourished. I suggest we do the same.

He is good, if you have a stud running game/wide receiver/Pro Bowl TE/defense to lean on. We are 0 for 3 1/2 on that front (I say 1/2 because Reed is a Pro Bowl TE who can never stay healthy).

If there is an escape clause in his contract and we draft a QB then I知 fine with the trade.

AS can do 90% of what KC does.

I知 pretty stoked to replace KC with a player the caliber of Smith. I知 surprised it happened so quickly but props to the Skins for being aggressive.

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith

This is gross. 4 years? I'm disgusted with the team TBH. I really don't want this guy. Not because he can't play but because this is Brad Johnson 2.0 this isn't the answer.
