Re: Ray Brown to re-sign Today

Rock is just way too small for short yardage. Too bad because I really like the guy.

If I remember correctly he was used quite a bit in 03 on short yardage and was pretty effective. He's so short he gets lost behind the line.

Re: Ray Brown to re-sign Today

Portis will be fine in short yardage behind what should be a much improved offensive line. He scored 29 TD's in his 2 seasons in Denver, so he can definitely be effective in short yardage.

I'd rather see Betts get more touches in short yardage over Rock.

Re: Ray Brown to re-sign Today

Exactly. We just have to have the playcalling to compliment his running style. He's not a bruising back (even though I'd like to see him put on some muscle this year), so let's not try and use him as one.

What games were you watching?

Rock Cartwright blows. We would do much better finding another veteran.

Ray Brown has had a great career but I would of prefered signing alot younger player as a backup-last year we where in pinch and Ray gave his all but there is time now to sign a young backup-

We drafted two lineman last year, I think there's always a place on the line for a veteran like Brown. The guy can still play and he's a valuable mentor for the younger guys. Plus he's being groomed for a spot on the coaching staff.

Re: Ray Brown to re-sign Today

This is how sad this team has become: we sign a stone-age Offensive Lineman and yet we can't resign a decent player like Smoot. And now we will probably draft a crappy DB with our #1 pick. How wasteful and depressing.

Is there a reason you go out and buy 99 cent big macs, instead of going to the Ritz and buying a prime rib? You buy the big mac because its cheap, and it fills the need of feeding you. Thats why we resign a guy like Ray Brown, and let a guy like Smoot go. I'm sure if you gave the Redskins a choice of getting Ray Brown for this contract, and getting smoot for the contract they offered him, thye'd accept the ladder. For cryin out loud look at the bigger picture.

Bring Back Zack.

I think he is back, and you just responded to him.
