Seattle is really similar to us But they have more talent overall IMO. I still think we win at home, Griffin will have a great first playoff game and we'll force Wilson into a couple ints

I think the Seahacks trip up and we roll right over them.

Pete Carroll is 0-3 (2 losses with the Patriots, 1 with the Seahawks) in NFL away playoff games. I would really love the Skins to trounce him.

Shanahan has obviously won a few home games along the way.

How will Wilson handle the Fedex crowd noise? Should be interesting.

Well, he only won because he had a future HOF quarterback and had managed to find a premier running back in the late rounds of the draft.

Oh, wait ...

I expect a really tight game. Both teams are pretty evenly matched. I think being at home will be a big advantage. I only wish this was a 1:00 game so it would be starting at 10am their time.

I really like the odds makers picking against us. Much rather have the Seahawks over San Fran.

I agree with everything that you said. Methinks that the Hawks run defense is not as tough on the road, opening the door for Alfmo to make a big difference.

We're going to have to get more than 100 yards in the passing game. No way do we run wild like we did last week. I expect another close one but these guys are beatable when they have to go on the road. If it was at Quest then we probably lose.

Re: Seahawks Redskins Rookie Showdown

The stats of Wilson and Griffin are amazingly similar. They both threw 393 passes, Griffin obviously in one less game:

plyr----cmp ----- att -----cmp%-----yards-----TD-----TD%-----INT-----INT%
RW ----252 ----- 393 ----- 64.1 ----- 3118----- 26----- 6.6----- 10-----2.5
RG3----258 ----- 393 ----- 65.6 ----- 3200 ----- 20 ----- 5.1-----5---- 1.3

plyr-----YPA-----YPC-----YPGm-----PRating---Sacks--4thQtrComebacks-GWinning Drives
RW-------8.1---- 12.4----- 194.9----- 100.0----- 33--------- 3----------- 4
RG3-----8.6----- 12.4----- 213.3----- 102.4----- 30--------- 3----------- 2

I went back and looked over their records and they have a tough time on the road in smaller stadiums that had around 60,000 in attendance. Wait until they come here and have 90,000 fans rocking the house.

Re: Seahawks Redskins Rookie Showdown

I worry about Russell Wilson scrambling when the Redskins can't keep him contained in the pocket. I figure Marshawn will get his 100 yards and a score, but if the Redskins can force some turnovers and limit their own they can win. Winning the turnover battle has been the key to the Redskins victories as of late. Will pressuring Wilson lead him to making mistakes and turning it over? No, I think it will lead to him scrambling for yards.

1) Yes their WRs don't scare me; but Golden Tate can jump and play a lot bigger than he actually is, and and Doug Baldwin can make some occassional plays, depends if he wants to show up this weekend. Sidney Rice was a top 10 WR with Favre, maybe he can catch on with Russell for the playoffs. But again I think we should be fine in the pass defense department.

2) Yes if we shut down the run we will win. But thats what Seattle is good at and thats easier said than done. You know how many teams have said "If we shut down Tom Brady, we'll win". Like I said easier said than done.

3) Yes the Steelers, Panthers, Bengals and Rams showed us how to beat our offense. (Hint Collapse the ends onto the QB).

4) No cleveland wasn't a top 10 scoring defense.

I think it really comes to this: If the Redskins can get pressure and CONTAIN Russell Wilson, then we will win, but he is really slippery out of the pocket and moves like a video game. It'll be tough, real tough. I would spy Wilson with Riley and use more fast pass rushers like Chris Wilson. Also do lots of CB blitzes.

Brian Mitchell thinks the brace is causing much of the immobility and that he should remove it.
