Maybe the Redskins can trade Gardner for a solid Center. I am wondering if the Skins will try to develop Royal at the tight end position or if they'll aggressively go after someone else and let him go?

The only thing with our receivers: I still think we need a fast receiver that has good hands and can get open downfield. Jacobbs might be that guy...I don't know....

The asking price is a 2nd rounder, that's a good starting point, but I'm sure they'll settle for a 3rd if it comes down to it.

im hoping 2nd but i do think it will be a 3rd. and that isnt to bad, im thinking jason brown from UNC will be on the board. he's a center for the tarheels and rated very high in that position for the draft, some even have him #1 overall center. im hoping if we do get a 3rd for gardner that jason brown will be available for that pick we recieve

Anybody heard any updates on Smoot? If there has been a post about it and I didn't see it, I apologize. I've been out of town.

No updates on Smoot and there probably won't be until we hear he's leaving town.

Matty:

If history is any indicator, we'll have some idea that Smoot is on his way out when we start to hear/read stories by local journalists saying that Smoot was a "problem in the clubhouse" or was "not open to coaching" or "stubborn" or things like that. The Redskins FO/PR Dept has a history of leaking those kinds of things about players just prior to them "leaving town". The most blatant example of that was Brian Mitchell.

So, keep your eyes open and your ears tuned...

Getting Coles was like drafting him. That's why I'm not against getting RFA. You use your first rounder on a player that has already established they can play in the NFL.

I hope we get something for him. I hate for the same thing that happened with Trotter happen with Gardner. I would love to see us do something like we did with Bryan Johnson. Or something unorthidox, like him as a part of a multi team trade or something.
