I've got 5 dozen "Choke Bowl IV" T-shirts printed up, so the Eagles better lose.

I'm going to pull for the Eagles. They have gotten so close for so long and I really think they deserve a shot at the title. The Falcons are a team I respect but they haven't earned a title shot yet in my opinion.
On the AFC side, I admire and respect the Patriots but I don't like them, for whatever reason. They have already won two out of the last three years and they did great to get to the championship game in beating the Colts shorthanded on defense and playing a wide receiver as a defensive back. That's a good enough memory for them to take from this season. I'd like to see Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl. Cowher and Bettis deserve a title. Bettis is impressive in that he took such a small amount of money relatively speaking just to finish out his career with the Steelers. That is the sort of loyalty to a team and fans that I tip my hat to. |

I want the Eagles to have a two touchdown lead throughout the whole game, be completely dominant and then lose in the final 2 minutes. Why? Because all of the cocky Eagles fans will be drunk, high on life and then, be throwing themselves off of the roofs of their double wide trailers. Go Falcons!

If the Eagles win and go to the Super Bowl, at least the Redskins can say that they played a Super Bowl team tough in one of their meetings. That would seem to be motivating and positive for a team that was a whole lot worse than anyone here on The Warpath thought they would be. Since the Skins are not part of the playoffs, why not pull for a team whose winning might boost the image/reputation/morale/self-esteem of the Redskins?
Same argument for Pittsburgh in the AFC title game...

I don't think our image from 2003 was boosted from having been the last team to beat the Patriots
You know, it's kind of funny how we talk about parity in the NFL and yet here we are once again for the 4th year in a row watching the Eagles in the NFC Championship Game. And for the 3rd time in 4 years the Patriots could win it all. Yet in baseball where allegedly the Yankees run an "evil empire" over the rest of the league there have been 4 different world champions the last 4 years...and not one has been the Yanks

Yeah good point SS, once the team hits the practice field in August what happened this year isn't going to matter much.
Saying we played the Steelers and Eagles tough is something the fans can hang their hats on, but I'm sure the players and coaches could really care less. |
