The report is that TJ is likely to stay in Cincinnati
Porter may be on his way out of Oakland though. |

I'm not really familiar with Porter. Would he be a better pick-up than taking someone from the draft?

Heath Miller keeps a much lower profile than the Shockeys and Winslows also. I don't know. I definitely think he will be a force when he enters the NFL.

Miller was not as effective this year because our quaterback sucked. Instead he just blocked extrememly well and never said a word. But last year as a sophmore with Schaub at quaterback he tore it up. He is gonna be up there with the elite at tightend believe me.

Don't draft Heath Miller
Why?
Two words: Chris Cooley. End of story. |

Cooley isn't our TE, he's our Hback. I'm looking for a TE that's a dominating blocker with good hands so Ramsey can dump off. We often play with a TE, and though I think royal is sufficient for some time, if we can get a deal on a good TE this year I'd take it. Miller is what I'm looking for, but may be taken too early for my likes. We have more important needs for our #1 pick.

Miller could be a good addition, however not at #9, especially since he is not a Gonzalez/Heap type TE. Miller (6'5", 255) isn't as big as Cooley (6'3", 265)...but he's about as big as Robert Royal, our current TE (6'4", 257)... Cooley is definitely our H-Back...he progressed very well at that position. Royal will pan out as a good TE, not a top tier, but a hard nosed guy who will be a workhorse for Gibbs...drafting Miller at 9 doesn't make sense...especially when we have other needs to fill.

I was surprised to see heath miller is one of the top 10 ranked players as of now for the draft by Mel Kiper. I think the list even showed him as the 4th rated player but I'm not sure if the list they showed was an actual ranked list.

If he's going in the first round, I would say pass on him. We a couple things that are huge needs on our team that we have to adress in the first round (WR/DE).
If we dont get a new TE before next season, I'll be happy as a clam to have Royal lining up for us. I think he earned the shot this season, to be a starter next year. He's at least a solid guy for the job. Like was mentioned, if we could get a good TE, we shoudl, however, just if we can after we take care of other things.
