I'm being selfish, but I'd love to see him stick around for another year. He still has game. He's a class act and I love to watch him play. During the play yesterday where he was penalized for throwing the pass past the line of scrimmage, he had this huge smile... It made me believe that he still loves the game.

He's had a brutal year on the home front... I would understand if he calls it quits. If my wife lost her brother and then immediately was facing breast cancer and chemo treatments, it would be difficult for me not to want to focus on her. Not to mention losing his own father last year.

Favre is still in the top 5 QB's in the league. Yesterday was a way off day for him and they still had a chance late in the 3rd before being totally pushed out. He won't go out like this, he will come back and probably hang it up next year.

Maybe we'll see him go out on top when he gets dominated by the Redskins in the NFC Championship game next year?

I think with all that has happened to Farve off the field, he may decide to hang it up and spend more time with his family. He's still one of THE best QB's of the game, but I can tell his game has been off somewhat this season.

He's still 1,000,000 times better than Mark Brunell...lol

I would take Favre with no arms over Brunell! LOL Ouch! I guess that was a little rough!

No he completely deserved it. HE'S one of the main reasons I have to pay out the ass to park at FedEx.

At least Clinton is earning his keep (for the most part).

Speaking of earning their keep... anyone heard about Pierce recently? I've heard a contract has been close.

Slate.com had a great article this week about Favre and the difference between his stats and his image in the media. I know that he's not responsible for how the media lionizes him as a "good ol' guy" just wanting to play football, but I've detected a growing weariness from some football fans over it. You look at his last several playoff games and you get this:
1. 2005- 4 picks at home vs. the Vikings.
2. 2004- one win, and then bad passes vs. the Eagles (I'll give him a big pass on that one- 4th and 27 anybody?)
3. 2002- loses to Falcons, at home, 1st ever playoff loss at Lambeau.
4. 2001- Mulitiple INTs vs. the Rams.
I love the guy, he's fun to watch, but I fear he's at the Dan Marino-late stages of his career-thinks he can force the ball into anything-stage of his career. The Packers need a QB plan now and Favre needs to wind back and play within his talents. Still would love to see him over Brunell though :cool-smil

Had Favre not lost the way he did, I'd say he's done. He'll play one more season and try to end in a lambeau home win which they miss the playoffs, or a good playoff performance by him.

Favre still threw for over 4000 yards this year and 30 TD's, he's not in the late career Marino stage just yet.

I think the Packers tend to lean on him too much come playoff time. They really need to upgrade the defense.
