Cam ran a respectable 4.58/40.

Well I'm really big into fitness, so that aspect is very cool to me. Plus obviously I love football.

Torrey Smith (WR-Maryland) ran a 4.37. Solid.

Julio Jones just broad jumped over 11 feet. That's crazy.

I'll repost this link. I don't any part of Ryan Mallet. Not even a little bit.

Combine focus: Mallett melts, Newton shines - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

I'm not saying I want him but I just changed my draft. J Jones at in the 1st and Ponder in the 2nd. Disregard my earlier post about not taking a WR at 10.

So ill say Newton does do a great job speaking and interviewing as shown in you link. But I don't think Malletts interview was bad at all. Obviously a player or person doesn't want to focus on drug use in the 5 mins or so they talk so I don't think the way he handled the situation bad at all. He definitely doesn't have nearly the charisma Newton had though. Although I don't think Brady or Manning are very charsimatic either.

I personnel don't want either of them espicially at 10. It would be a huge reach for both in my opinion

Also to me, just by looking at him and hearing him speak he does come across as the type of guy that does drugs.

Sure he doesn't want to talk about it, but the rumors have been there for a while. Like the one reporter said, he's going to have to address it at some point, so he might as well just answer the questions. I mean, Cam Newton knows he's going to get grilled about his red-flags. You simply have to man up and answer the tough questions. That what these interview sessions are all about.

Plus, how about his smart-ass, arrogant response to questions about his on the field decision making: “Seven thousand-plus yards and 60 touchdowns in two seasons. That’s how I respond to that.”

Really, Ryan? That's very mature of you.

Side note- A friend of mine who is also a co-worker is an Arkansas native/alumnus. He told me over a year ago about the rumors that Mallett is a big fan of the nose candy. This stuff has been floating around about him for a while.

Re: The 2011 NFL Combine Discussion Thread

I dunno I thought Mallett handled himself well. He wanted to discuss his situation with his potential employers first, rather than dealing with the mediots. I get that.
