Matty:

I think Mitchell was the best of the four. Taylor and Monk and Clark are all excellent WRs and it is hard for me to separate them.

If you force me to do that, I'd take Monk then Taylor and then Clark. But remember, the differences between these three is VERY small.

IMHO...

It would be a close call for me between Monk and Henry Ellard.
Monk is one of my favorite all-time players, and he could always be counted on to make the clutch catch on 3rd down and keep the chains moving-- something that has been sorely lacking in the Redskins offense.

Ellard is another one of my faves, and he's also another receiver who spent his career moving the chains. Working with the fabulous trio of John Friesz, Heath Shuler and Gus Frerotte, he was able to post three consecutive 50+ reception, 1000+ yard seasons for the Redskins from '94 through '96...

Plus, I'd love to see another one of those post-touchdown backflips he was famous for.

I just wish one of these guys would come back and show the current bunch of stonehanded receivers how to catch.

Monk wouldn't just bring good hands, he'd bring back what it means to be a redskin...and no one forget about downtown Charlie Brown...he was pretty good

Ellard ran the tightest routes I've ever seen. Even though we had him on the downside of his career he was still a lot of fun to watch.

I must say I was surprised to hear Henry Ellard's name, but you guys are right, even on the downside of his career, Ellard was a good acquisition for us. Just like Gibbs wanting to have a "veteran" QB to help with the younger QBs on the team, I think it's just as important to have a veteran receiver out there to act as a mentor for the younger receivers or the receivers that are going through slumps.

Andre Reed finished his career with the Skins in 2000. Didn't do anything impressive. But he did have a solid career and he is technically an ex-Redskin

But, I wouldn't take him above Monk, Ellard, Taylor, among others.

Wow I guess he did, I honestly must have blocked him out! I remembered Friar playing for us for a couple seasons I think, and Alvin Harper (which didn't impress me at all), and of course Henry Ellard. I guess he had gotten lost in with all the big time names we aqcuired like Dion Sanders, Bruce Smith, and Jeff George.
