Re: Brunell's contract voided

I like Brunell...hes a classy guy...but so is Collins.
Either would have an easier time in a WC offense.
If he doesn't return, I will always remember the Dallas 4th quarter comeback game with Moss..A classic.

Thanks for the good memories!

It's about time. I will say however that i want either him or Collins back. One or the other.

Re: Brunell's contract voided

I'm excited that we saved so much space.
I really hope we don't sign him again too. He had extreme difficulties learning the Saunders offense, and he kept his injuries quiet and hurt the team by doing so. He did well for that one year, but it's time to cut ties and be done with him. Let Zorn bring in who he wants, after all, he was a QB and should know what to look for.

Re: Brunell's contract voided

I don't think I've ever seen a QB dump the ball to the check down receiver as much as Mark. He gave it an honest shot, but I think it's time for him to move on.

Re: Brunell's contract voided

Even though MB was Gibbs guy he cost Gibbs more than any other player in his 4 years back. Gibbs just made a bad choice and then with his cap issues we were stuck with him. I think Gibs would have had better success if he would have found a younger QB with a good set of skills. With that said I feel MB gave us his best, was a classy guy, team player and I wish him the best of luck in life.

Re: Brunell's contract voided

I think Brunell comes back and with his knowledge of the west coast Offense, is a solid #2...that way should Campbell go down again, Brunell comes in and lights it up just like Collins did....and then the QB controversy starts all over again!!! just kidding

Well wishes to Brunell wherever he goes...he is a class act!

Especially that first year in 04. If we had just an average QB that year we make the playoffs. But I think MB should come back if Collins goes to STL. I DO NOT WANT DIFLER OR GUS. Dilfer was worse than Alex Smith who is a total bust. And Gus was just awful filling in for Bulger.

Who knows... maybe with some defensive help we would have been ok with MB in 2006.

If you think about Gibbs past 4 years. He had MB for three and a young QB for his fourth year coaching. Not sure if they get the blame for the weak O's we had those years but it makes you wonder if Gibbs just did not pick MB what could have been the difference in our team.

I think if TC goes we will NEED a backup and he'll ask for more.

Re: Brunell's contract voided

I would love to bring in Trent Dilfer as a QB coach, but it looks likes the guy still wants to play. Dilfer knows what Zorn wants so bringing him in for, yes, the veteran minimum as a 3rd QB would be great. I think I alreday mentioned that I want Collins to stay, mainly because hes a QB that bases his throws on timing and the WCO is about timing. Also heard that Zorn will retain the framework of Saunders system while making it his own. Could have sworn that he said the terminology would be the same. Either way Collins has rapport with the Recievers and Zorn to coach him at QB, with that said I would like to bring him back.

I truly disliked 80% of the time you were on the field.
