Re: Scouts Inc. ranks the playoff coaches

Not only did they gaffe on the Hall of Fame thing, but the general assessment (sp) just seems so elementary.

Was that written by a 5th grader? He may eventually be a Hall of Fame coach? I'm not even gonna waste any more breath on this one.

Re: Scouts Inc. ranks the playoff coaches

Okay, so I lied about not wasting anymore breath on this one. Scouts Inc. also ranked us as the worst overall defense out of any of the playoff teams!!! Are they serious? Did someone highjack their site and post this stuff, or are they really that dumb? Hacks Inc. is more like it. Wow.
It's from "insider" so I copied/pasted it:

Cowboys, Packers share top spot

By Scouts Inc.
(Archive)

Updated: January 1, 2008Maybe the glamour offenses are in the AFC, but the best defenses appear to be in the NFC. A pair of NFC teams top Scouts Inc.'s rankings of the playoff defenses. Dallas, armed with the top linebackers, and Green Bay, which features one of the best DB units, are tied for the top spot.
Scouts Inc. ranked the 12 playoff teams by position on a scale of 1-12, with one being the best. After adding the points, here are the overall results, with lowest score being the best.
Also, you can read the individual position breakdowns here:
Defensive Line | Linebackers | Defensive backs | Special teams

Getting Defensive Team
DL LB DB Total
1. Dallas Cowboys 5 1 6 12
1. Green Bay Packers 6 4 2 12
3. San Diego Chargers 4 2 7 13
4. New England Patriots 2 8 4 14
5. Indianapolis Colts 11 6 1 18
5. Seattle Seahawks 8 5 5 18
7. Pittsburgh Steelers 9 3 8 20
8. Tennessee Titans 3 7 11 21
9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 12 9 3 24
10. New York Giants 1 12 12 25
11. Jacksonville Jaguars 7 11 9 27
12. Washington Redskins 10 10 10 30 Scouts Inc. watches games, breaks down film and studies football from all angles for ESPN.com.

Like, it's pretty elementary knowledge that the Titans and Steelers have the best defenses in the playoffs. I don't think any other source would argue with that much.

Wow.

Meanwhile Seattle is #5??

What a joke.

I want my money back from ESPN Insider.

Re: Scouts Inc. ranks the playoff coaches

they are ranking by position, not by how the defense plays as a unit or their chemistry. that is a dumb way to rank a collective defense IMO

Actually, they still have the Rally Monkey to do the actual work, they just write the columns.

I hear that next season the NFL is going to introduce the Foreward Pass and move the goal posts to the back of the endzone.

Forgive the poor reviewer. He just realized he was watching games from 2006, not 2007.

Re: Scouts Inc. ranks the playoff coaches

My favorite "observation" is that Gibbs has never been a great delegator. Whether it was Pettibon, GW, Danny Smith, Pete Rodriguiez or Wayne Sevier, does Gibbs do any hands on coaching of Defense or Special Teams? All he does is delegate the coaching.

Re: Scouts Inc. ranks the playoff coaches

Maybe Scouts inc. is.......another outsourced American company??????? It has to be the only explanation, as Gibbs is generally referred to as "HOF coach Joe Gibbs"..............every 23 seconds

Re: Scouts Inc. ranks the playoff coaches

Are you kidding? Gibbs is NOT a Hall Of Famer? I thought Monk not getting in was bad but I figured with 3 Super Bowl wins with 3 different quarterbacks Gibbs was a lock.
In order to right this wrong, I am starting the Gibbs/Monk HOF campaign to get these two deserving gentlemen into Canton. EVENTUALLY it will happen.
