Re: a little love from NFL.com

It's refreshing to have some backups who are actually capable of starting if the need should arise. Our past two seasons have ended prematurely because of a lack of depth and I'd love to think that won't happen again this year.

Yes, this is nothing but truth.

I think MANY of us would feel very comfortable with Lemar Marshall coming in at almost ANY position at LB and us not missing a beat.

Brunell, love him or hate him, is still better than most backup QBs in this league. And we all already know about the RB situation...

Re: a little love from NFL.com

Brunell is more than able to do what most good back ups do: manage the game. His dink and dunks aren't going to win us a lot of games, especially over the course of a season, but they might be just enough to keep us in close a game if (God forbid) Campbell goes down.
Hell, the ravens won a damn Super Bowl with a QB that pretty much just managed the game.

That being said, if Brunell has to come in and start multiple games I might lose it and join the Peace Corps or something like that.

Brunell is a great back up. He knows the system, the players and he can protect the ball in an emergency.

Re: a little love from NFL.com

And really that's all you should be asking the backup to do. Yeah, everyone wants a backup to be able to come in and light it up like Brady did in '01 or Garcia did last year but that's all that realistic.

Thanks ya'll. It's been weird being back. I came home for ONE day on Monday and then had to head out of town for a conference until today. I'm just now getting some free time.

Working on posting the wedding and honeymoon pics.

Nice.

Too bad you can't throw some type of virtual garter belt our way. I'm sure I'd catch to go along with the dozen I already have.

Word, you know I would have...

Now I'll get back on task...You can always count on other team's getting one or two key injuries. If we can stay healthy (ESPECIALLY CAMPBELL AND SPRINGS) we're good.

hessy, i usually agree with you, and think brunell is more then an adequate back up. but all anyone has to do is sneeze on him, and he fumbles

Re: a little love from NFL.com

Well this is the Brunells last season so im sure he would fill in nicely if needed... im thinking next year Palmer or Collins... Bramlett? I wonder how Palmer is coming along... havent heard much...but collins/bramlett as a #2 scares me

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.
