Happy birthday, USA, the greatest nation the earth has ever seen. May we live up to the great principles you are founded upon.
When those brave men of the second continental congress signed that document in Philadelphia, they were either signing the founding document of a new nation, or their death warrants. After that, they were either traitors to the British crown or the founding fathers of the USA. John Hancock (one of the richest men in the colonies) signed extra large so George the 3rd would know it was him. That, to me, is the American spirit. If we think these times are trying (and they are!), we should recall today that others of our countrymen faced similar trials and worse. They came through those times, and so will we. We may not be perfect as a nation, but we are founded on the idea that "all men are created equal, and edowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights, among them the rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." We struggle at times to live up to this ideal, but at least we have it to aim for, to guide us, and to inspire us. That is why this nation is great, and why, even in dissent, we should be proud of it. HAVE A GREAT 4TH OF JULY!!!

They gave you the right like in no other nation to talk bad about them 228 years later.
Bravo to them! peace And if "slavery" is your point I would ask you "What as an American are you doing to stop modern day slavery?" Surely you must know that African groups take other tribes into slavery still to this day. As to if these founding Fathers were "morally righteous men" to what standards do you hold them? Were they perfect like Christ? No. But you have given no proof they are someone "not" to be thought of as ones that had a good intent. If they did not do a perfect job at a Nation...show me a better one or by all means...start one. ~just shakes head GOD bless America mike

I think we have all got Big C wrong, he was in mid conversation with his partner, who just so happens to be a sheep.
So what does 'Meh' mean? Did it get you anywhere with your sheep? |
