Re: Novak Is Not The Answer!
Hall is on IR so I think he's done. I think he could return in the postseason but that's obviously still a pipe dream at this point.

Re: Novak Is Not The Answer!
We need to solve our kicking woes in the draft or something. We need someone reliable!

Re: Novak Is Not The Answer!
Novak needs to line up like I do for a golf shot. I know I am gonna hit it 10 yards right, so I turn and hit it ten yards left.

Re: Novak Is Not The Answer!
I'm very glad that he got a 'do over' kick at the end of the game and made the most of it. I really had my doubts that he could pull it off.
I'm sticking with my nickname for him ... Nick 'the reason he was available' Novak. |

Re: Novak Is Not The Answer!
Wasn't there a known issue with him hooking it one way so Danny Smith says to Gibbs get the ball to the Bleah (left or right hash mark) I cannot remember but when Portis got stuffed not only did it add 3 yards it put it on the wrong hash.

Re: Novak Is Not The Answer!
Novak had issues when he was a freshman at Maryland, and was able to correct them and becomes an All ACC kicker.
With that said, he's not the answer, but a temporary solution to a problem that should be solved in the offseason with an acquisition that isn't Hall or Novak.

Re: Novak Is Not The Answer!
He missed the kick with 30 seconds left and I walked out into the garage, where I had been working on something. I came back in maybe 2 or 3 minutes later expecting to watch overtime and my wife yelled to me, THE REDSKINS WON!
I said "HOW?!?!?! NO THEY DIDN'T! I JUST SAW THEM BLOW IT!" She told me they kicked a field goal. I said, "yeah and they missed it!". She reenacted it for me with the pole in the middle of our family room/former basement where the big screen is. I said "are you SURE it wasn't the Cowboys?" Then the commercials ended and I saw the crazy replays. I missed a lot in that 2 minutes! ... So anyways...Novak IS better than Hall distance-wise. He's an upgrade but not completely an answer. I'll still take a guy who can hit a 47-yarder with no time left on the clock over a guy who can't make a 35-yarder to save his own life. |

Re: Novak Is Not The Answer!
hes got until the end of the season id think to win this job, otherwise he is gone. he definitely has to get more consistent, but he is a very young kicker and it would be nice if he could develop into a dependable guy. we have yet to see that though

Re: Novak Is Not The Answer!
Im up for using a relatively decent draft pick on one.
If we had it, Id go 3rd/4th round if there was a very solid prospect. Otherwise, go after an UFA.

This should have been addressed in the off season anyhow, Hall isn't that good it's not like he wasen't missing easy fieldgoals before he was hurt, and he's alway's injured. How bout letting this kid get confortable perhaps all he needs is game experience, he has to get used to the pressure which kickers have a ton of. David Ackers anyone? |

If the front office had any brains this would have been dealt with over the off-season. Adam Archuletta or Vinatieri.... Let's take the undersized linebacker with no cover skills and we will pay him more money than any safety in the history of the league! |
