Re: Arrington happy to put Redskins in past
I would seriously love to know what LaVar's gripe is now. He's bringing up old shit.

Re: Arrington happy to put Redskins in past
Let's keep in mind of course these guys are going to talk trash. It's a big division rivalry, they do what they have to do to get pumped up. I think LaVar is genuinely ticked, Pierce on the other hand talks trash for the sake of it. I don't get the feeling that he's got any bad feelings over the whole deal.
As for Chad Morton... who? |

Ugh. Screw him. Can't wait to see Sellers flatten him. I also have visions of little Moss catching him blindsided and laying him out.

washington-pierce-marshall was a GREAT LB lineup. arrington was decent last year, but if we still had pierce i don't think he would have seen a single down. |

I actually believe Holdman will be vastly improved this year. Williams doesn't give props for nothing.

That Guy is rightfully harsh on Holdman, but I'm holding out on him being the Comeback Player of the Year. There is potential if you look past last year. I wonder what the uninspiring play (or lack there of) was due to?

Re: Arrington happy to put Redskins in past
All LA needed to do to feel good about himself was read the posts on this site from 2 years ago by everyone that is now bashing him saying how he is the greatest LB ever.

Re: Arrington happy to put Redskins in past
I hate to say it, but Lavar overall does have some points about the way the organization's been run. However, that's in the past & its Gibbs' show now, and we've already seen the difference.
I don't doubt though that the Danny would be an absolute ass if you were on his bad side, & I've said before on our multitude of Lavar threads, my best theory on it is that Lavar got Danny pissed when he sided w/his agents. I don't know about all that stuff that Coles' claimed last year, but he too had personal stuff to say about DS. Speakin of agents & Lavar, check today's news on that - the nflpa has suspended them after getting fed up w/them delaying the hearing dates. As for Pierece, he's just tryin to be a good teamate w/Lavar, he's also hurt that we didn't sign him for big $. I do wish we'd have kept him though. |

Re: Arrington happy to put Redskins in past
There's a disconnect in Arrington's comments. He's obviously jaded by the treatment he received from Snyder over the last five seasons. He names Davis leaving, Champ, Marty, Spurrier, etc. But Lavar, those are all things that happened as a result of Dan Snyder being involved in the franchise. Now that Gibbs is back, Snyder is not meddling. Gibbs and Williams are making the calls, and surprise surprise, the Skins made the playoffs last year once Snyder got out of the way and let the coaches do what they do.
Lavar's hurt mostly because he knows that Dan Snyder finally is getting out of the way, and there are finally good coaches in place. Notice how he didn't criticize Gibbs or Williams? Lavar is upset because finally, FINALLY the Skins have something going, and the coaches didn't think he deserved to be a part of it. That's what really hurts. Because in the end Dan Snyder is a guy that knows nothing about football. But when a hall-of-fame coach treats you like you're not wanted, that has to hit home. And it hits home for a reason. Lavar was out most of last season and we went 10-6. GW obviously doesn't need him to put up a good defense, which of course answers the ultimate question in today's NFL: is this player worth his cap figure? The answer is a resounding no.

He definitely hasn't endeared himself to a lot of fans with his complaining and lashing out against the team. He's certainly not an innocent victim. The fans didn't turn on him for no reason. And he still has his fair share of supporters to boot. And in the end the majority of people are going to support the team over an individual player. That shouldn't be surprising. |
