I rembember getting a text message stating "Gibbs in talks with legend Gibbs." I did not think much about it and I thought it is just a rumor. After reading his book I was convinced he would never be back (guess I can tear out that page). Altough I was happy to think, I knew it was not going to happen. I read the Washington post and read it the next morning and stated the same thing and still was not convinced. Then I got a call from my brother (who is a cowgirl fan) and he told me that it was official and I was still in disbelief all day even though I knew it was official.

1-8-04 I will never forget that day. One of the happiest days of my life.

In Brud's defense he only lives 15 minutes away but gets lost a lot.

I was one of those that thought the chances of Gibbs coming back was zero to none. Just didn't seem like his MO, he won 3 rings here, he's in the HOF, what else did he have to prove?

Turns out alot of us were dead wrong, LOL, and thankfully so!

From what I gathered from listening to that press conference again, it seems like coming back was a thought that Gibbs never really seriously entertained until Coy indicated that he would like to get into coaching and once the Skins job opened up it just kinda got the whole thing rolling. You could almost tell that Gibbs himself was a bit surprised that he was back.

My roomate at the time, whos a huge Giants fan left me a message on the comp about it. When I woke up and read it I was mad at him for sending me some spoof to get my hopes up. i almost cried when i went and read that it was for real.

I can remember it as if it was yesterday. I was driving to school listening to the Sports Junkies on 99.1 HFS, when they said Mr. Gibbs is the next head coach of the Washington Redskins. I just about wrecked I was so excited. I called my dad who is a Skins fan and told him the news and he couldn't believe it. The best thing was though when I told my friends, since most of them are not Skins fans, they were like oh no! The look on there face was priceless when I told them!

I am Russian Orthodox and we celebrate Christmas on Jan. 7, rather than Dec. 25. So this year when I got the new of Gibbs return it was just like recieving a Christmas present.

I fell asleep on the couch that night with Espn on, the early morning Sportscenter reported it as I slept. So when I woke up and was getting my shower I thought I dreamed it. As I got out of the shower I heard them say it again. I was dancing around the house all wet, my girlfriend thought I was having a seizure I think.

I got a job with a well respected consulting firm, and they are opening a satellite office for me. I'm now onsite at clients three or four days a week, I drive the long hours the other day(s), and my office a half hour away will open in mid-June.

The first couple of months were pretty hellish, though. Also complicating my crowded life are a two-year old son, a wife whose eight months pregnant, a father who's running for governor (http://www.leedelaware.com), and a mother with a serious illness (). That's why I'm down to four posts a day.

Congratulations on the upcoming addition to your family. Good luck to your father and I hope your mom gets better (Unfortunately I'm going through the same thing with my dad right now)

Im sorry that both of you are having to deal with difficult situations right now. Ive grown up with a handicap mom and have complete sympathy for having to go through rough times.
