Re: Ramsey to the Jets Nearly Done

5th rounder and a conditional is better than nothing.....which is what we'd get if we kept him around and he became a free agent after this season. We're not going to get anything better than that. Heck, last year the Seahawks and Colts couldn't even find a team willing to give up a 2nd rounder for Alexander and James.......how in the world could we expect that for Ramsey?

Honestly, I thought Miami would be the best place for him. NY press is worse than the DC press. He will hate it there, and NY's offense is lacking at TE and WR not to mention RB. Good luck Pat..

Geographically closer == appealing for the players, but not in the same conference or division so it's super appealing to owners.

And, it's not like trading someone to the Ravens, where there's this rivalry or a feeling of being sent to "the B team in town".

You guys are doing it again.

What makes you believe this deal is even close to being done?

A N.Y. writer is speculating about Ramsey's visit to the Jets. His unnamed source says Patrick doesn't have visits to Miami or Detroit planned.

That might simply mean he hasn't yet made the travel arrangments.

I think at this point, we can pretty much assume PR will be a Jet.

Well anyways after we came out way on top after the Moss and Coles trade I think we need to be nice to the Jets this year so we have to give up Ramsey for good value for them in my opinion. I really think he could be one of those QB's who gets better and better with age. Hope Ramsey kicks ass in the AFC!
I was thinking the same thing and I hope the best for PR. If he thought the skins fans would boo him alot wait until he has a bad game in NY.

I've been lurking a bit on Dolphins and Jets boards. Interestingly, the Fins fans have Drew Brees at the top of their wishlist but he is never mentioned on the Jets board. Maybe it's because they already have a weak-armed QB coming off shoulder surgery on their roster.

I think Patrick would be more likely to be willing to sign an extension with Miami or Detroit unless the Jets new young coaching staff impresses the hell out of him.

Per my Miami source the Dolphins are going to make a hard push for Brees.

I think Brees will be fine after the surgery and I think that'll give the Fins a legitimate shot at making the playoffs next year.

If teams around the league are convinced that Brees will be fine after surgery, he will land a huge contract somewhere. If the Dolphins sign him, they can't improve as much elsewhere. Their cap position is weak, relative to the other teams.

Their 9 -7 record last season was achieved against a soft schedule. QB is just one of their needs.

You said Brees + Fins = Playoff Shot

I gave you reasons why that might not work out. Which part didn't you understand?
