That's the ideal, but I don't believe any great team is that way. Even the Patriots had Brady.

I think that Portis is the face of the team. I actually believe he has been it for atleast a year.

Re: Face of the Redskins

Bram just told the most unbelievable story about Lavar in a practice.

Lavar is lined up on Jansen.
First snap Lavar tries to run him over and gets tossed aside.
Second snap Lavar tries to run him over and gets picked up and bodyslammed. Now he is mad.
Third snap Lavar runs straight through Jansen and knocks him 4 feet back. Lavar goes straight to the QB while the ball is behind the QB's head snatches it and runs for a TD.

Goodbye Lavar. What you could have been.....

True every team has their stars and players that the media picks up on as being the "face of the team", but the mindset of the Patriots is very much a true team mindset and that's the same thing Gibbs is doing here.

Re: Face of the Redskins

What the hell are we talking about?

Define "Face of the Redskins."

Are we talking about the team's most popular player?

Some writer used the phrase to describe LaVar and it had a nice ring to it. Forget it.

Portis is the new "Face of the Redskins?" Which face? Southeast Jerome?

Man, you are way off base with that last comment.

Everybody knows the face is Coach Janky Spanky.

Re: Face of the Redskins

I change my vote to Ade Jimoh. Whenever i hear people people saying somethign about the redskins it goes like this: "hey you've heard of the redskins right? Oh yeah that's the team that Ade Jimoh plays for"

well put Mattyk & someone else who said Gibbs. That was part of our problem in the Lavar years, we needed a player to market rather than marketing the team. those teams had no image, so it was easy to put lavar out there. Now Gibbs is the image, 3 super bowls w/3 qb's; we don't need any one player to stand out so much.
