Re: ESPN Monday night crew: Theismann, Kornheiser and Tirico
i think it's a good group of guys. they should be entertaining as well as knowing what they are talking about ,as it pertains to football anyway.

Re: ESPN Monday night crew: Theismann, Kornheiser and Tirico
Tony is not in the same league as Cosell. Listening to Cosell pontificate was a joy for anyone who loves words. He was a true artist. If Tony were ten times more pompous and 100 times more intelligent, you might have something.

Re: ESPN Monday night crew: Theismann, Kornheiser and Tirico
I think a successful booth team starts with a good "Straight man", and Tirico will do a great job in that role. He doesn't mind letting his partners interupt him or say what they want in the way of analyzing or providing color. We all know how JT will do, because we have heard him for many years on Sunday nights. Kornheiser is the wildcard. He will make or break the show in my opinion. If he sticks to occasional comments here and there, I think it will be a good mix. MNF is looking for that "foil" for Theisman like the relationship Cosell and Merideth had. Tony should be good in that role. Let Tirico call the game, let JT go on and on about the particulars and let Tony play spoiler to JT's comments.

Re: ESPN Monday night crew: Theismann, Kornheiser and Tirico
TK is great on PTI but monday night football i have to wait and see.i think tirico is ok but he to me doesn,t have the personality to go with it.
but i guess it,s too early to judge until september.

I agree. Riggins would have been the modern day Don Meredith, and he and Joe already have a history. Hearing some of their stories would have been refreshing in the booth. However, I'm not screaming about the Kornheiser deal. For those of you who remember his original "Bandwagon" series back in 91, you'll know that he was the King of Washington Football for a long time afterwards. The thing that is the wildcard with him is that he has become known for doing all sports as a broadcaster and it seems that his depth of knowledge on football might have suffered. And will locker rooms embrace him like one of their former own? As for his personality...hey remember, he grew up in NYC. His flip crassness is a polished art there. |

Re: ESPN Monday night crew: Theismann, Kornheiser and Tirico
Riggins would be great, i would take him over Thiesman any day Joe can get on my nerves quick. Take him over Tony too man this shit can go either way, with the way tony whines about this on his radio show it sounds like it could go the wrong way.

Re: ESPN Monday night crew: Theismann, Kornheiser and Tirico
anyone over joey T, please. I can't stand him in the booth. he can't stop talking and when he doen't have anything meaningful to add, he just makes things up which are both pointless and retarded.
