Have an extra ticket (more like tickets since I'll need one for the plane and one for the game...)

I watched that Dallas highlights video tonight as well, heh.

When I first read that I didn't realize it was a question. I was ready to pack my bags.

Re: The best 'Skins rant I've heard this year!!!

My fourteen year old son came home from school telling me about the shit he getting over the Xmas gifts he was given [many Redskins stuff]!!! His new hats are his thing along with a Terp sweet shrit! Anyway living out here on the left coast in Nor Cal even thought we live in Raider and 49er area the Seahawks fans are coming out of the woodwork! He is the only Skin fan at his school. It's a fact that the Redskins will lose and the Hawks will be at home for the NFC Championship game in many Hawks fans mines out here!!! His friends say things like the Bucs are not the Seahawks or this game is going to be a blow out!!! He the AM stations out here in Sac and KNBR in SF say give the points[9] and pick Seattle! It's funny you still hear the Gibbs is to old and the same about Burnell! The D is over rated and Portis is one hit away from being out!!! I can't wait to see what that old guy Gibbs dose to Seattle!!!! Going to be fun!!!

Of course the redskins are going to be the underdog in these playoffs, they are the lowest seed. That does not mean they cant win but I just dont understand why everyone is so upset that the skins were an underdog last week and again this week. Even if they were the #2 seed playing #1 this week in seattle they'd be dogs. If they win it all this year they wont be dogs next but until then they will have to put up with the role.

Re: The best 'Skins rant I've heard this year!!!

I don't think people are mad that we're the underdogs; I think everyone understands why that is. What is annoying is the fact that it seems like every analyst and talking head out there is completely trashing this team and basically saying that we suck and are lucky to be in this position. We are the true fans, that's why we tend to talk more about the other issues at play during this game (like the strength of schedule and quality wins) and less about the obvious facts like home field advantage and the bye week. We believe in this team because we have seen what it is capible of.

We just beat the top rated D on the road and people are complaining because our offense didn't do enough? So what? 120 total yards in a win IS STILL A WIN, just like 400 total yards in a loss is still a loss! So I say let people keep doubting these Redskins. Let the seahawks kicker ("... the kick is up, and it hits the upright! This game is going to overtime!) say whatever he wants. Let the ESPN 'experts' throw gas on the fire that is Gregg Williams. Sure it pisses us fans off, but it also seems to get this team pumped.

The point is, it seems like everyone is discounting what this team has actually accomplished over the past season, and a lot of us are sick of it. I'm a realist, I know that the playoffs are obviously an ongoing uphill battle for the Skins and I know that it would be a huge turn-around for us to make it to or win the Super Bowl. However, I also know that this team has absolutely earned the respect of everyone in the league, and I hope that Gibbs and Williams and all the players never stop fighting until they force it out of the last of these doubters.

6 down, 3 more to go...

Re: The best 'Skins rant I've heard this year!!!

Got this one off the web... great article!!

Ten reasons why the Redskins can beat the Seahawks.

1) Excluding their meaningless late-season games with the Colts and Packers (W and L, respectively), the Seahawks have played four teams with a winning record and have split those contests. The Redskins, meanwhile, have played eleven teams with a winning record and are 6-5 in those games.

2) The Seahawks two wins against teams with winning records came via monumental gaffes by their opponents. In week 7 against Dallas, Drew Bledsoe threw an ill-advised last-second interception that set up a game-winning Seattle FG. Five weeks later, in another home game against an NFC East opponent, Giants kicker Jay Feely missed three makeable FGs in the 4th quarter and overtime. Don't tell me Seattle is invincible at home.

3) In his nine games against teams with records worse than 6-10, Alexander is averaging 131.1 yards and 2.33 touchdowns. In four games against teams with winning records, Shaun Alexander is averaging 85.5 yards and .5 touchdowns. If A. Rod doesn't play in the World Baseball Classic, maybe Shaun A. could take his place, seeing as they both love piling up stats against inferior opponents but never seem to get it done in big games.

4) Everyone talks about how difficult it is to win a Wild Card and Divisional Playoff game on the road. And they're right. Only twice since the NFL expanded to a 12-team playoff in 1990 have teams won road games in the first two rounds of the playoffs. The last team to do it was the 1996 Jacksonville Jaguars. Their quarterback? Mark Brunell.

5) Joe Gibbs has a career 18-5 record in the playoffs and is 19-4 in games played in January.

6) The Seahawks franchise has not won a playoff game since 1984, the longest such current drought in the NFL. Under Holmgren, Seattle is 0-3 in the playoffs, including a home-loss last season to the underdog St. Louis Rams.

7) Mike Holmgren is a very good coach, but he hasn't won a playoff game without Brett Favre. Joe Gibbs, on the other hand, is a very great coach and has won playoff games and Super Bowls with Jay Schroeder, Doug Williams and Mark Rypien.

8) Seattle tackle Walter Jones is one of, if the not the, best offensive lineman in football. This should help quell Philip Daniels, but the strength of the Redskins d-line is not on the outside but in the middle with Cornelius Griffin and Joe Salave'a.

9) The Redskins have played four "rematch" games this season (Dallas, New York, Tampa Bay and Philadelphia). In the first games against those teams, Washington was outscored 95-66. In the rematches, it was Washington that did the outscoring: 118-57. Gibbs took them from a 29-point deficit to a 61-point advantage, which leads me to #10, the most important fact on this list:

10) Week 3: Washington 20 - Seattle 17. It's one thing to think the Redskins won't win. But to think they can't, especially in light of the fact they've already beaten Seattle this season, is absurd.

Gibbs won with Theismann, not Schroeder. Williams took over for Schroeder that year. Come on man, I was 4 or 5 at the time and I knew that.

Good post otherwise. Hail!

I really don't want the Skins to be the team Alexander breaks out of his post-season funk against!

Schroeder didn't win a SB, but he did win playoff games.

I love when people say Portis is one hit away from being knock out of a game. What they don't know is much about Betts and the ROCK! If I knew we were starting the game without Portis I would not have any problem with the one two punch these guys give us.

I love Clinton but i dont think we miss that much with Betts in there if Clinton gets hurt. Does anyone, besides us, realize what a bruising RB Betts is?
