FYI. We'll start a fresh thread once the decision is official and lock this one up

I think you intelligently (without too much reaching) draft a QB as high as you can this year. Then perhaps do so again next year depending on results.

Ha! Well he'll probably stay. I think Landry declares though. I have nothing but my own guessing to base that on though. Every week it seems I hear something different on RG III

Makes sense. I guess we learn about Barkley today at least. The more coming out the better for us.

I guess my only thoughts are, if that particular QB, say Tannehill, would normally be #22 in the first round WITH Barkley and RG III in the draft, would one still think it's wise to draft him at say #4 because he happened to move up be it that RG III and Barkley stayed in school?

But then again, I suppose it becomes the law of supply and demand. Less QBs in the draft makes the ones left in the draft more valuable. Just seems crazy to have to draft a QB higher than you might have because the other guys didn't declare.

I think this is a rare case where supply and demand may increase or deflate at the same rate. I think a RGIII, Barkley, Luck type may get teams fired up to draft a QB but if they are not there they will probably look to fill another need vs. drafting a Tannehill type earlier then expected.

Re: 2012 Draft-QB Prospects (Part III)

We need Barkley and RG3 to come out. And even then chances are we're going to have to trade up to get the guy we want. Then again I can't help but wonder if Shanahan sees someone like Nick Folles as the Ryan Kerrigan of QB's and instead of trading up he trades back to not only get his QB but extra picks.

As someone said, the team needs to get the QB that is at the top of their draft board.

Re: 2012 Draft-QB Prospects (Part III)

I just think no matter if it's this year or next year, the Redskins HAVE to hit a homerun in drafting a QB. I just don't want another decade of musical QBs.

What if the difference is 1 or 2 points on a scale of 1 to 100 and the difference in picking those two players results in either a loss of a second round pick or gaining an additional 2nd or 3rd?

I say go for the value guy if the two QB's are rated in the same tier by the front office.
