The reason we are struggling in the run is mostly we are cleaning up at that second level...when we do that we ball.

Joe Burrow is Tony Romo 2.0 but a bit more accurate. He's going to be really good

The draft when Sean Taylor was picked was a contentious one for Redskin’s fans. I argued for an Edge pass rusher versus a Safety at the time. But there was no arguing what a difference Sean made for the team when he arrived . He was a monster hitter that WR feared. A player with that much talent can make a huge improvement to the defense or offense. He made watching the defense an exciting event.

No draft pick is a lock. But getting Chase could raise the defense up single-handedly and make our DL a monster part of our team.

Can we not call college players generational talents until they are in the hall of fame?

Exhibit A: 49ers and Bosa. He’s made a huge difference, they were the shits last year with pretty much the same players, they were so bad they got the 2nd overall pick. Sound familiar?

I am fine calling people generational talents, just because they have the talent doesn't mean they will develop into a HOF

They have a good defense coordinator in Saleh. If we draft Young, we better have a defense coordinator that knows how to utilize the players.

Re: QB or BPA for our #1 Draft Pick - 2020

I didnt watch a lot of college ball this year and when I did watch Ohio State to see Chase Young (the Penn State game) he wasnt jumping off my TV screen.

The last thing I want the Skins to do is spend another high pick on an DL/Edge player bc thats all we do - Murphy, P Smith, Anderson, Sweat plus Payne/Allen as IDL. 5 1st or 2nd R picks in the past 5 drafts, thats 50% of our high drafts go to the front DL which isnt bad but man, what are we going to do.

Resigning Allen (1 yr left plus 5th yr option), Payne (2 yrs plus option), Ioannidis (3 yrs left?) will have to happen in 2-3 years. 2nd over all pick (Chase Young) will probably be 6.5M year 1 cap hit with a 11M 4th year cap hit.

The one position we have invested heavily in and we still need help sacking the QB. This is going to be an expensive unit, if I had to pick where to spend heavily it would be the DL so thats good. Id much rather have a heavily invested DL vs WR or RB or even secondary ...

Im down with taking Chase Young but we need to allocate resources to the other units on this team after him. Need a LT, TE1, FS, coverage/WLB, legit CB2 (not waiting on Moraeu or Moreland or D Johnson = depth talent imo), WLB, G, WR2 ....

Draft Chase Young but then turn your attentions to the other units ... this team is getting unbalanced and our DL has been average to poor this year. 28th in run D and guys are healthy?

To me "generational talents" means a once in 20 to 30 years player.

You can't have one every year but the media loves their titles and excessive hyperbole.

I mostly agree with you CRed but I always took Chase Young talk as being a "generational talent" for an edge rusher and generation being a shorter maybe 7-10 year window which is the life span of a good NFL player.

But the Bosas were generational talents at end, Myles garrett ... yeah "generational talent" may be over used but if Young is in the same company as garrett and the Bosas ... ill take that.

I agree that the term is overused

P. Smith left us and has 12 sacks with one game left to play. Like everyone else said we need a new DC badly, because a front of Ionnadis, Allen, Payne, Sweat, Young, and Anderson should rival one of the best in the league if coached properly.

Preston is also getting a good bit more snaps with GB. I wouldnt be surprised if it wasnt another games worth (50 snaps or so) if not 2 games worth more.

He had two 8 sack years with us. I liked Preston but I dont think he is worth the 4/52M, good thing is GB is really only on the hook for 2 years w only 16M guaranteed. He was worth it to GB who had that DE cupboard bare and it is working for all parties involved.

he is more valuable to GB then he was to us.
