Re: 2012 Draft-QB Prospects (Part III)
Last year? I was not suprised only because Jake Locker was already off the board, and we never seemed particularly thrilled with Gabbert, which with hindsight seems like a good move now. on the other hand, after a year of mediocre to downright dreadful quarterback play, we need our guy now, so that he is ready to go in a year.

I think that we'll have a rare opportunity to land one of three top notch prospects in Luck, Barkley, and RGIII and I'm optimistic that the Skins FO will come through for us. Last edited by KI Skins Fan; 12-22-2011 at 11:07 AM. |

If the rams get the 1st pick which I think they will, I'd offer 3 first for Andrew Luck, at least 2. Call me crazy and an idiot but most teams that need a QB will be thinking the same thing.. Luck is a manning type elite QB prospect and if u land this guy we are set at QB for years to come.

To even consider doing what you suggest, one must first believe that Luck is a rare prospect in the Peyton Manning mold. Like you, I do. Secondly, one must believe that a QB of that quality can make a huge difference for your team, turning losses into wins and making your team a perennial playoff contender. I do. So, I would offer as many as three firsts, if necessary. P.S. If the Skins had Andrew Luck, then D.C. would become a prime destination for top FA's. That's how the Skins could sign the equivalent of a first round WR talent to pair with Luck. Last edited by KI Skins Fan; 12-22-2011 at 11:35 AM. |

Exactly K I, if we had Luck just imagine the impact he would make on the team on/off the field. We would become a Big time draw and of course a winner again. I really think he's the best QB that's came out since manning, will he be an Elite QB? I truly think so

I think Barkley will say that he's leaving, BUT will not hire an agent incase he has a change of heart to return, which he won't so ultimately 1 month from now he will be in the draft.

That's the rumor. If he does, will be interesting to see how (if at all) this impacts RG III's and Landry Jones' decisions. Rumors have had them all possibly staying

Some of you guys are putting so much stock in Luck just because. Why is he so great? I have no idea.I only know what the media has feed me; I am not a professional QB scout nor is anyone on here.If you showed me game tapes and career stats of RGIII and Charlie Ward (both Heisman Trophy winners) then told me to pick which would be a NFL star or at least a high draft pick I couldn't give you a educated answer (assuming both were coming out at the same time). So many folks on here myself included thought Cam Newton was going to be a bust, right now I take him over anyone in the 2012 draft because I know he can do it at a high level in the NFL. I have said this before Ricky Williams is a great example, coming out of school you think he was JC but when it came draft time he was not even the first RB off the board. Not to mention his career has been lack luster at best. ALSO it is lot easier to succeeded at being a RB in the NFL then a QB, QB probably has the highest failure rate of all positions. Honestly the bar is set so high for Luck right now that anything short of a SB victory his first season people will be calling him a bust. The media loves to build you up then tear you down. The best thing for the media would be for Luck to come in with all this praise as the number one and then completly fall on his face come gameday, they would have a field day with that story.

I would think it be a positive if Barkley stays that just moves those guys up one more notch in the draft. If I was RGIII one the reasons I stay in NCAA would be the #1 pick next year seeing that Luck has it locked up this year.
