Someone else the other day was talking about renting billboard space on 495 close to FedEx with the same message....

Just take our local 7/11 which has a section that sells hats and stuff of different teams. Last year when we were winning all the skins stuff was sold out and this year it looks like they have sold nothing skins related. Now X that by all the places selling skins stuff and it is costing DS a bunch of money.
Show me where I said that he doesn't care about winning. Obviously you make more money when you're winning as apposed to losing. My point was that this "Make Snyder sell the team" stuff isn't going to do anything. Snyder doesn't care about us, he has known we don't like him for a long time - nothing new. The only difference is that people are alot louder about it now than ever before. Its a waste of time to put up signs or start websites that try to make him sell the team. The hate should be focused on Vinny - that is something that the fan's voice might actually have an influence in changing.

I'm not sure the whole aim of "sell our team Danny Boy" is to actually get him to sell. At least I didnt take it that way. I think it's just a cry for him to quit f'ing up the franchise. In other words, to get rid of Vinny and start doing things the right way...or else. Although the whole "or else" is kind of a false threat. Anyway, just my opinion.

mImpetert, who started this, clearly has said in earlier posts that no one realistically expects DS to sell the team due to this.

I totally agree. I guess I would just rather see something like "get the hell out of here Vinny" or "Vinny is a joke". If thats the true message behind "sell our team" then why not just say "get rid of Vinny"?

It doesn't matter either way. I just realized that I'm getting pissed off over some stupid title to a thread on a blog that is attempting to get the owner of an NFL team to make changes.

The reasoning behind my (and probably everyone elses) short fuse is that we are fed up with the Redskins, and we can't do anything about it. At least thats my realization...

You could donate 5 bucks and laugh your ass off when you see these stupid ass signs on metro buses and know you were a part of it.

Re: Sell OUR Team Danny Boy - DC Metro Bus Ads

Alright to answer a few things.

We actually wanted to go with a billboard, however; that costs in the neighborhood of 25-40k in the DC area, and there are a totally of zero billboards on 495.

We did not want to use Fire Vinny for several reasons. At the time we started this (a week ago), there was a slight rumor floating around that Vinny may get fired if we lose the philly game. We didn’t want to take the chance that Vinny was already gone and we just raised a bunch of money. Plus in my opinion, and many others, it all starts at the top. Danny is responsible for all of this. I really feel he is. It is his fault we are the Raiders of the NFC, that coaches don’t want to coach for us, that fans get nickeld and dimed out of everything Redskins related, that our team is a bottom 5 team, that we suck, that you cant bring signs to the game, that luxury ticket holders are getting sued because they lost their jobs, that we have no offensive line but have the highest paid player to ever play the game (I like big Al, but whats the point if we have MAYBE 1 offensive lineman that could start almost anywhere else). Bottom line this is Danny’s fault, it starts at the top.

We do not expect Danny to sell the team. I didn’t expect a bb gun for Christmas when I was 7, but I asked for it anyways. Would I like Danny to sell, absolutely. I would be just as satisfied if Danny stopped interfering with OUR team as I would if he sold the team. A ad that reads Sell OUR Team sends a much clearer statement. You don’t get picked up by the media for saying Mr. Snyder Please Change This, Thanks!. This is a AD, not a cover letter, no time for P’s and Q’s.

We started this because soooo many fans were complaining, but not really doing anything. During times like this its great to complain about Synder, Vinny, or Zorn or whoever but at least try to do something. Even if you HATE what we are doing, I encourage to at least set up a Danny Snyder is Awesome! Facebook page (2-5 minutes tops), or a mlmpetert Sucks facebook page.

One of the main objectives we had was to encourage people to do something rather than just be content with the way things are. Our thoughts are if you think something needs to be done to fix the franchise make a attempt. If you are already thinking that by next August that there is a really really good chance the Skins could go all the way this year….. Well then just know when you are disappointed again that there is always next year.….

People are making t shirts, writing blogs, mailing their fan cards in, planning to travel to Atlanta with signs, not buying skins gear, saying they are gonna give up their season tickets, skipping games, and so on and so on. People have had enough! Blame Danny, or Vinny, or Jimmy, but if you don’t do anything right now blame yourself next year.

mlmpetert,

sometimes in life, you have to realize you have no control. I don't blame myself for this year, or the next, or the next. The Redskins are not a democracy, Daniel Snyder is the owner of the team. I hope he figures things out, and gets a clue. But either way I'm a Skins fan, that's just the fact.

we don't have much control but to say we have none isn't true, and to say you will sit back and wtch this go on this year and the next and the next with out doing anything, just doesn't make sense to me. it's like saying you couldn't hammer a nial with your hand so you gave up instead of trying the rock on the ground next to you. while we aren't necessarily doing it the perfect way atleast we are willing to try, and i fell like thats what makes me a fan showing that i care instead of just bitching to my boys
